Magic Fluctuations

Linne pov-"Linne woke up" a voice called out. I woke up and let out a yawn as I sat up to stretch. Doing so, I unveiled the covers revealing Vatista was in bed with me. 

I panickingly looked around the room to see who woke me up and felt a sense of relief when I saw it was Hyde.

"Where were you last night?"I asked while cracking my neck. 

Hyde looked at me and exhaled in exhaustion. "Nanase chased me all night", he yawned. 

He tried to climb into bed with me. That's when he noticed the autonomic nerve who was lying beside me. She was hugging my lower body. Hyde looked at me in confusion.

"I thought you hated Vatista. What is this about?" He said in a really confused tone.

"I do hate dolls, it's just..." I paused due to almost spilling how I felt about her

"Its just what?" Hyde said, motioning his hands, trying to get me to continue. 

"Nothing... I feel sick I'm going outside" I sighed, getting up slowly, trying not to drag Vatista with me.

I went out. It was a beautiful day. I took a deep breath just taking in the nice serene air as I continued on my way, I ended up seeing a black cat with pretty red eyes with a black ribbon with white cotton balls on the front. The cat was eating a cupcake.

I looked away for only a millisecond, but when I looked back the cat was gone

"Did you see that cat too?" Asked a young looking girl as she walked up to me. She had short reddish hair and was wearing green clothes with a green scarf and lace stockings. 

"Yeah is it yours?" I asked, trying not to breathe in the smoke from her cigarette.

"No, but that cat is the familiar of an acquaintance of mine" she said as she inhaled the smoke of her cigarette and puffed it out 

I looked at the girl and noticed something off about her. "are you a foreigner? You don't seem to be from around here", I asked out of curiosity.

"No, I'm from Misaki, I'm here because the magic fluctuations here are off the charts" the girl sighed, puffing out more smoke.

She rummaged through her pocket and  tossed me a business card with her contact info. 

"You look strong, so you should be a valuable asset to the mages association give me a call if you figure out why the magic fluctuations are high or if you need any help with anything" the girl said, walking away

I looked down at the card, Touko Aozaki. I thought as I looked back up the girl had seemingly vanished. 

"What she couldn't have gone far" I said in confusion. 

I decided just to ignore it and think about what she had told me. Why would the magic fluctuations be so high? Maybe it has to do with Hilda or Kuon, I thought. 

I'll search for Hida and Kuon again tonight, I thought to myself as I returned to where Hyde was.
