Chapter 15 : One of Them

Yu Na-Bi laid on her bed, thinking about her new friend. Do Gang-jae.

"I'm guessing you have to go now?" Do Gang-jae asked.

"Yes" she laughed a little. She didn't know what it was about Do Gang-jae that she admired but he definitely had something.

"Before you go, I wanted to say I don't know why you were crying. But I want you to know whatever you're going through it's going to be okay" he smiled reassuringly.

"Thank you. I needed to hear that" she replied back.

Gosh, he was so sweet and respectful. Na-Bi smiled to herself she finally had made a friend. Not including Ren and the boys. Do Gang-jae, her first actual friend.

Ren burst into Yu Na-Bi's room looking completely stressed out. "Na-Bi thank god!"

Na-Bi jumped sitting up on her bed. "Na-Bi where did you go? We all thought you ran away or something!"

"I'm sorry, I just needed some fresh air" She replied, "I just went to the park nearby."

"One minute" Ren exclaimed taking his phone out.

"Thyme?"

"She's here."

"No, no back in her room. She's safe I'm with her right now."

"No, she just went to the park five minutes away."

"No I'll speak to her right now."

Ren sighed shaking his head. "Thyme, I don't think she wants to talk to you right now, so I'll talk to her."

"Okay, bye."

"Where's Thyme?" Na-Bi asked Ren.

"All the boys are out searching for you Na-Bi. You gave Thyme quite a shock when he broke the bathroom door open to find the window wide open. I can't believe you jumped down."

"Oh" She replied, "I'm sorry I didn't realise it would be that much of a deal. I didn't jump out of the window I slid down the pipe."

Ren laughed. "I just can't stay mad at you can I?"

Na-Bi blushed pulling an awkward smile at Ren, she didn't know how to respond to that.

"So what happened Na-Bi?"

"Huh?" She asked even though she had clearly heard Ren the first time.

Ren sighed and sat on the edge of her bed. "I know Achara crossed the line but you should know better. He really would have killed you Na-Bi he doesn't play games like Thyme."

"I know, I know" she sighed looking down at her crossed feet, "I just..I just wanted to know what happened. I wanted to know why he hates my father so much. Why he killed my mum. I just...have so many questions Ren and I just lost it when he started insulting my father without telling me what he did wrong."

"My father's a good man Ren. He always was. Maybe there was some misunderstanding or something I-I don't know" she added.

"I get it. Really I do. But it's not the right way to get it out of Achara. I don't know if Achara will ever tell you what happened but I do know someone might."

"Who?" She asked her eyes widened in curiosity.

"Thyme."

She laughed weakly. "That explains why he hated me so much from the start."

Na-Bi decided not to tell him about the weird memory she had. She brushed it away she decided not to tell anyone about it until she could make sense of it.

"Thyme doesn't hate you, he's just...Thyme."

"When Thyme dragged me out of the dinning room. We got into a fight. I ended up just screaming at him. His face afterwards just broke my heart. I told him everything I've been keeping in for years. A part of me feels so guilty just dumping it all on him. I couldn't tell if he was angry and sad. What if he uses it against me? I know he hates me and-"

Na-Bi couldn't help the tears spilling down her cheeks.

"-Shhh, Thyme's not like that don't worry. Right now I think he's more concerned about you than anything" Ren interrupted patting Na-Bi's head.

"Really?"

He wiped her tears away. "Really."

"Thyme's not the threat here Achara is. Before you talk to Thyme you need to make amends with Achara before things go too far. MJ texted me about ten minutes ago saying he's calmed down, you should see him."

"But isn't he mad that I ran out?" She asked.

"No he doesn't know about that. Only Thyme, Kavin, MJ and I know about it. He'd get even angrier if he found out" Ren laughed.

"Oh, you didn't tell him?"

"Why would we? You're one of us now, we've got each other's backs" Ren smiled.

Na-Bi smiled back, it felt nice to be included into something. A part of something. She got up and touched the door handle before pausing and looking back at Ren. "Thank you, for everything."

"Always."

Na-Bi stood at the door for a few more seconds hesitantly wondering how she was going to make peace with Achara. She had called him a swine and a motherfucker. There wasn't possibly anything she could say to make that better. She even spoke back boldly making him look completely stupid. Damaged egos and mafia leaders do not go hand in hand at all.

Like oil and water. Just don't mix together. She was as safe as a mouse in a room with five lions. I can't believe I let my emotions get the better of me! Surely there's no going back, she thought. Was she going to have to beg for her life?

"Na-Bi?" Ren called her causing her to turn around and look back at him.

"Hm?"

"Do you want me to come with you?"

Na-Bi smiled in relief. "Yes please."

Ren stood up walking towards Yu Na-Bi he wrapped his arm around her, his hand caressing her head. And her she rested the side of her face on his chest. He looked out the window, his head tilted to one side too smiling.

Aww isn't this cute. Okay so there are three ships possible.
