One of the guards stood in front of Ren. "Mr Paramaanantra, would like to see the girl alone."

Ren kissed his teeth in disbelief. "You have got to be kidding me."

"It's okay Ren. I'll just go in on my own."

Ren held onto Na-Bi's arm softly. "Are you sure you'll be okay?"

"Mhm" she nodded back with a brave smile. After all it was her mess.

As she walked inside she winced hearing the doors firmly shut behind her. She took a deep breathe in before walking on.

Her eyes met Achara's who was sitting on his chair flicking the lid of his golden lighter box up and down. Each click of the lighter box synced with Na-Bi's breaths.

Achara glared at her waiting for her to speak. "Achara, I'm sorry. I was out of order, I let my emotions get the better of me."

"Hm, emotions. One of the most powerful things in the world is getting too emotional. Sadness, anger, confusion and shock. Caused me to act irrationally in the past. So I understand where you're coming from, I shall choose to forgive you this time."

"It won't happen again."

"It better not. Let this be an exception."

"Yes Achara once again I am really sorry."

Achara chuckled. "You remind me of someone."

"Who?"

"A little girl, a long time ago."

"Yu Na-Bi did you take Daddy's gun?" Jae-on asked his daughter.

"No I didn't!" She cried.

"Yu Na-Bi, tell me the truth please."

"She said she didn't take it, Jae-on. You probably misplaced it" Achara defended her.

"I saw her playing with the bullets Achara" Jae-on sighed holding up two bullets, "I've told her many times it's dangerous to play with my gun."

Achara leaned down placing his hands on young Na-Bi's shoulders. "Na-Bi baby, did u take the gun? I promise I won't be mad if you did okay?"

"No I didn't" she cried shaking her head. She had sad, cute pout with her eyes filled with tears to the brim.

"I took it!" a little boy walked into the living room.

"Thyme!" Achara glared at his son, "why did you take it? I've told you not to play with other people's things!"

"It looked cool and I'm a seven years old now I wanna shoot some bad guys like you dad!" He replied back.

"If you want to learn how to use a gun you should have come to me. I would have taught you there's no need to steal it okay?" Jae-on explained calmly, "now where's the gun?"

Thyme looked at Na-Bi then back at Jae-on. "I forgot where I kept it Na-Bi will help me find it."

Achara glanced at the two suspiciously. He knew his son hasn't ever touched his gun without his permission so there's no reason for him to touch Jae-on's. Unless, he was sticking up for Na-Bi.

Young Thyme grabbed Na-Bi's arm and they went upstairs to find the gun. A few minutes later the two came down with Jae-on's gun. "Hm, I still don't understand how Na-Bi was the one playing with the bullets? Are you sure you took the gun Thyme?"

"Of course it was me, does this mean you won't teach me how to use a gun?" Thyme asked avoiding the question.

"Of course not, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4" Jae-on smiled saluting at Thyme, "just don't take our guns without our permissions okay?"

Thyme nodded as Jae-on left. Achara looked at his son then back at Na-Bi. "You took his gun didn't Na-Bi?"

"I just told you I did!" Thyme raised his voice a little.

"Thyme I know your sticking up for her."

"No! I really did-"

"-Yes it was me" Young Na-Bi looked down at the ground.

"Why did you take it?"

"Daddy said it was too dangerous for me to use a gun he said I was too young. I wanted to prove him wrong so I took it. I'm sorry."

"Don't be, go with Thyme to those lessons" Achara smiled. Na-Bi's face lit up and she ran out the room to find her father.

"And Thyme" he said, "well done for looking out for her. That's my little boy."

Achara snaps out of the flashback. No matter how much he'd tried to ignore it he always sees Na-Bi as his own daughter. He had always stuck up for her and had a soft spot for her.

Her father's actions made him want to hate her, but he never could. He loved and cared for her too much.
Jae-on didn't deserve her. He had turned into a complete mad man, Achara had heard about rumours of Jae-on keeping her locked up in his mansion.

Of course, he wouldn't ask her that not right now. "I'd like you to join me, for dinner tomorrow. There's a lot to talk about."

"Dinner?" Na-Bi asked looking confused, "can Ren come too?"

"No just the two of us."

"Okay."

Na-Bi couldn't help overthinking it. Was Achara going to kill her? Maybe he hadn't forgiven her and wanted to kill her somewhere far away from this mansion so he wouldn't get caught. What if he buries me alive? Or chains me to a bunch of heavy rocks and leaves me to drown in the sea?

Na-Bi shook her head and blocked out all the dark thoughts. It's just a dinner, she thought.
