3rd person's POV
"I... I'm moving away."Anne's smile dropped as she froze. "W-What?"
The other girl was silent, she couldn't bare meeting her eyes, and that only made the brunettes stomach churn more as she felt dizzy.
"T-This is a joke right? You're not actually—"
"I wish it was a joke, I really do, but I— my dad, he's got a good job opportunity somewhere else so, I-I have to leave,"
Anne's hands dropped back to her side as she already felt a wave of sadness wash over her, she knew this meant she'd probably have to let go of Marcy, but she just couldn't do that.
A long and heavy silence filled the air as Marcy cautiously glanced over at her, to see Anne's eyes already tearing up.
"Anne? Are you—"
She cut herself off and froze when Anne threw her arms around her waist to give her a hug. She definitely wasn't used to this kind of affection which made a heavy blush cross her face as she hugged back.
They lingered in each other's arms, both feeling something that was a bit more than platonic, but they'd probably never admit that.
Marcy pulled away, and the other girl blinked the tears away and said. "Promise me we'll stay in touch? Through messages and stuff? I-I, just can't, you know... handle leaving you."
Her eyes softened and she smiled, "Of course!"
Another silence, and Marcy had assumed that this was it, so she turned away and went to walk away.
Once she had made it a bit far away, she heard fast footsteps running towards her, "Marcy!"
She turned in confusion, as they stopped in front of each other.
"What?"
Anne gently grabbed the front of Marcy's shirt which made her flush slightly, and she closed her eyes and leaned over to press a soft kiss on her cheek, which only made her blush more. She lingered a little too long before pulling away.
They stared into each other's eyes, Marcy having a more noticeable blush, but Anne didn't acknowledge it, instead she smiled and ran back to her house.
She stood there in the middle of the sidewalk, completely confused and unsure if what happened actually did happen.
She slowly lifted her hand to her cheek, and felt the ghost of Anne's lips, and she broke out into a smile.
She shook it off and walked away, already knowing she was gonna leave Anne, but it didn't mean she'd have to leave her behind, text messages still existed after all.

Marcy watched as her parents put the last of their things in the moving truck, as they followed after it in their own car.
She gazed out the window before seeing her phone screen light up, which made her quickly look at it, and she immediately smiled once she saw who it was from.
Anne 💙
I miss you already!! But have fun Marbles :)She grinned even more, Anne didn't have to text her but she did anyways, which made a warm feeling flutter in her stomach. She turned off the phone and gazed out the window again, feeling a bit better knowing that Anne still cared.
To be continued...
