It was exam day. And everyone was on edge. Jisung sat in his class, waiting for his teacher to tell them to go ahead and submit their projects. He was nervous because he felt he should've put more time into the project, but he had so many things to work on at once. He wondered so many things. If his project was truly ready to turn in, how he would do on the exam, how the others would do on their exams. His mind was all over the place. He wasn't a fan of all that worrying.
"Okay everyone, I will allow roughly twenty minutes of extra time today for you all to work on your exams. But once I call it, I expect everyone to turn their projects in, are we clear?" His teacher announced and a chorus of 'yes' went about the room.
Jisung was grateful for the twenty extra minutes, that was one less thing he had to worry about. Though, his anxiety still remained. Because he worried for his friends. His brain tried to make sense of things that didn't make one bit of sense. Like how he felt, if he worried enough for the others, maybe they wouldn't worry so much themselves, even though he knew that's not how it worked. And having known Jisung for a long time, Felix knew the way Jisung thought, so as he waited his turn to do his routine, he worried about his friend who would be worrying for him. He was able to push away his worries as he performed, being able to complete his routine without mistakes.
Differently, in another class, Minho was performing and his mind began to wander as he approached his spin. He thought of Jisung, and how Jisung helped him, but he thought too much, beginning to think of Jisung's smile, and his laugh, and the way he was just impossibly adorable. And he messed up the spin. He finished off the routine before walking back to his seat and beginning to sulk as everyone else sat amazed, clapping for him. He genuinely wanted to cry. And he hated that. He hated making mistakes after he had already perfected something. And he was so confident in himself, just to mess up at the time it mattered the most.
He sent a quick message to Changbin, telling him about the way he messed up and how it happened, and Changbin told him to just go home after school, and calm down and he would tell the others that he'd be skipping practice. He knew his friend wouldn't be able to work well in those conditions. There was no way.
And when Jisung didn't see Minho, he felt himself become worried, not that he would tell anyone. His worry dissipated when Changbin announced that he'd be going straight home and not joining practice. He didn't show any reaction to that, but he wondered if the older was alright and why he wasn't joining practice. Not that he would ask though.
Changbin kept the reason a secret, knowing how humiliated the older had felt over messing up his routine he had worked so hard on. Minho had always been like that. he would work so hard on something and the second he would mess up, he would doubt his abilities and feel just oh so embarrassed.
And that's precisely how Minho felt as he sat in silence on his couch, head in hands as he tried to calm down and shake off what had happened. He could only think of Jisung. The younger was clouding his head. Similarly, Minho was clouding Jisung's head. And Jisung hated that. he didn't understand why and that drove him crazy. He always wanted to understand things.
Whenever something didn't make sense, he would take the time that was needed until he understood it. But he just couldn't understand how he had fallen for someone he swore to himself that he would never like. There were things Jisung had promised himself he hated about the older after they had met and one day all of that changed and it hadn't made one bit of sense to him. For weeks he couldn't understand it and it was starting to make him even more upset than before. He found himself wanting to lash out on Minho which he knew was unfair, but he couldn't help but to be rude to the same male he wanted to smile at. The male he wanted to push away, but at the same time, hug and kiss. Nothing made sense. And he wanted to just understand why he fell for the other.
