Investigation

This day has been a complete disaster. At this point, I'm just relieved it's over. I'm totally exhausted. I'm going to head to sleep and deal with this in the morning. 

10:45 a.m., Thursday, August 19, 2021

I'm woken up by the irritating sound of my alarm. It's time to begin this investigation. I have a plan to get back at Austin for being such a dick on our date, and I'm going to show him that he's wrong for it.

Despite the fact that Austin and I didn't talk much on our "date," I was able to learn a few things about him. One important piece of info is that he lives with his brother, Matt. You may be wondering why this is important, well, long story short, I'm going to get with his brother. Call me crazy, but imagine Austin's reaction if he saw his brother hooking up with a random girl he met on a date. Trust me on this one, it's going to be great.

I take out my laptop, open Google, and look up his name: "Austin Hoyt." It took some time, but I eventually found an Instagram account under his name. I go through his followers, looking for someone under the name of "Matt Hoyt." 

Bingo. 

After scrolling through his account, he's a lot like his brother, hot. I guess it runs in the family. I decided to hit him up in his DMs. I decided to reply to one of his stories about him rollerblading. "I've always wanted to get into rollerblading! You think you could teach me a thing or two? " I clicked send.

I've never felt so anxious while waiting for a response. Is this really the right thing to do? Of course it is; he took me out on a date and then ignored me to watch Spongebob. I don't think it makes me a bad person to be upset about it. I know I was just fangirling over Austin, but his brother Matt is looking really fine now. If you ask me, he's a huge upgrade.

4 hours later

My phone dings, it's Matt. 

"Haha, I mean I'm down!" the text reads. I immediately rushed to respond. "What does your week look like? Any room for me? 🙃" I say. "I mean, normally I'd be busy this week," he says, "but I can work something out for you, how does rollerblading tomorrow sound? I can pick you up at 4. My name's Matt, by the way." "Awesome! Mine's Alexa. I'll see you then!" I replied. 

Everything is going smoothly I already have a date! We're going rollerblading tomorrow, and I know nothing about it, but I think that's what'll make this interesting.

You know, this whole thing started out as a little "get back to Austin" plan, but I'm actually really looking forward to this date. But we all know what happens when you get too excited about a date; just look at my last one. But he doesn't seem like his brother; he's much nicer and approachable, but that could just be me. 

I mean, I actually kind of think this could work out.
