Cold, dark, frightening. These words rushed in and out of Thomas' head. He couldn't think, he could barely breathe, and he thought he might pass out. Soon, however, he collected himself, he needed to think about his situation.
He looked around as his eyes slowly began to adjust to his new surroundings. Something was keeping the room cold, but it wasn't electric. He followed the chains to see if they led somewhere, only to be disappointed by the fact that they were attached to the wall.
He looked around again, there were no windows. He could barely see the outline of a few objects though, the first of which seemed to be a pipe that ran from the cement floor to the ceiling above, this was most likely a gas line. Second, he could see a strange shape on the other side of the room, he couldn't tell what it was so he moved on for now. The last thing he could make out, other than ordinary cellar objects and such, was a set of stairs leading up to a door.
Thinking that whoever put him down here was most likely still up there, he decided he needed to stay quiet. But as he sat there, staring up the stairs, the door slowly began to creak open. As it did, Thomas could make out the sounds of running water, dishes clanging, and most likely the most confusing sound, the end credits of The Shining playing in the background. Then, as suddenly as the first slam he heard on his first night here, the door swung shut, the noise ringing throughout the cellar.
He didn't know what was going on, he was confused, scared, cold, and tired, but Thomas knew at least one thing. Those noises were exactly what happened on his first night here, and something strange, and possibly bigger than being trapped in a cellar, was happening. Thomas took a deep breath, then looked around the cellar one last time.
"I have to get out of here."
