The intern { Alex Karev }

Save me

It had been a week since Gianna started her internship at Seattle Grace. So far she had scrubbed in on two surgeries, met Alex Karev aka the evil spawn and beco d me friends with him and get yelled at by 5 attendings. As Gianna was walking towards the hospital doors from the parking lot Alex ran up too her "boo" he said when she wasn't ready and she dropped her coffee. "Ugh Alex you made me drop my coffee" she said throwing the coffee cup at him. She walked into the changing room to change into her scrubs when she saw Meredith and Christina. They had become best friends since the first day and they said they were each other persons. Gianna didn't know who her person was, maybe it was all of them. Bailey lined them up to tell them what attending they had for the day. "Yang and O'Malley are with Burke, Stevens and Grey with Torres and Karev and Webber your on peds. Gianna smiled, she liked peds and all the tiny humans. She and Alex took the elevator to the peds floor and walked to the patient "Webber present" the attending said as Gianna took the chart up. She presented the patient that was born with a heart defect that was impossible to fix. "And today he's getting a new heart" she finished the presentation with and smiled at the little boy who was so happy about the heart. "It looks like he has been given three hearts before but they've been put into someone else cause of an emergency." She says and the boy looked  sad so she knew it was true. Gianna and Alex spent two hours studying for the procedure. They checked the clock and it was time for lunch, so they walked to the cafeteria together. She took some fries and a apple juice since she wasn't to hungry. She took a bite from Alex's burger when they both got paged to the patients room. They walked into the room as the attending was talking to the parents "we are so sorry to inform you that the heart has been given to someone else" Gianna heart sank when she heard those words and she could feel the panic attack coming as the family started crying "excuse me" she said and ran off into a supply closet. She sat down onto the floor and started crying and having a panic attack. A few minutes later Alex walked in and saw her having a panic attack. He sat down next to her and hugged her. "He deserved that heart" Gianna said in between her shaky breaths. "I know" Alex said and calmed her down. After a few minutes the panic attack was over and she was about to walk home "thanks Alex" she said and smiled at him. She walked out of the hospital looking back at Alex who was flirting with a nurse, now she knew who her person was. It was him.
