Yashiori Island was indeed a sight to behold: the sharp, upward points of the mountains with shards the size of an archon statue idly floating up in the sky not far away, with a large body of water in the middle of the mountains. Sitting on a rock a few hundred feet before the landmark allowed the full view of the giant piece of rock that was high in the atmosphere, looking like the piece to the puzzle if it somehow fell into the middle of the giant mountains. The dark clouds huddled around the area, sunlight only being seen from the east side. Purple trees were found everywhere on the entire island, along with electro monsters of all sorts. It was rumored that a thunder manifestation could be found on the highest island, awaiting anyone who came near. The lightning supposedly ceased, attracting many Inazumans who desperately wanted to take in the aura of the island. And lastly, your favorite part of the island, Ei, who was taking various food items out of the basket that you both had prepared together earlier.
Despite being an odd location to have a picnic, the island was unusually sunny that day, with no clouds hovering over the land making it a great choice. Instead of wearing her usual outfit, Ei chose a pair of light blue mom shorts, and a white tank that displayed a bit of cleavage, which was tucked into her jeans with long flared sleeves, along with sandals and a purple flower headband. You wore a coordinating outfit, the only differences being a cropped white shirt that was tight to your skin, with a small plunge neckline as it was sleeveless going around your neck, and a silk white handkerchief that was tied into your hair. The picnic blanket you two lie on was a purple pastel color with flowers covering it. Sandwiches, macaroons, and many other items were taken out by Ei. You admired how the sun perfectly hit her face while she took the food out, careful not to open any of the containers. You noticed that she had begun to look visibly relaxed within the months you were with her, making you smile. Instead of being the rash person she was before, she was calm and easygoing. Even Miko could tell the difference. The thought of the past brought you back to the incident with Kujou, along with the various changes in your daily life since then.
The incident with Kujou had happened a few months ago, since which many other things have happened to the both of you. Firstly, you openly explored your vision with Ei and Miko. You discovered that using a claymore helped you best manage your power, easily channeling it with heavy swings. Since then, you've gone on many missions with Ei, getting rid of Ley Line Samurai and hillichurls. Your pyro worked with her electro flawlessly, allowing you two to clean up much of Inazuma's land. Secondly, Ei had a battle with the Shogun, since Ei was using her body and the Shogun had a consciousness of her own. There weren't any negative long term effects, only that you couldn't see Ei for a few hours as she was inside a plane of consciousness. Lumine and Paimon visited then, traveling to visit you and Ei. Though it was a shame they got to witness the moment where Ei spoke to her late sister, Makoto, and you didn't. You had only truly seen Ei feeling vulnerable when you had your pain attacks, which had seemingly gone away. Lastly, Lumine and Paimon had been sending you postcards of their missions together. Supposedly they were a step closer to figuring out Aether's whereabouts, but their path was stopped at the lack of clues. You felt sorry for Lumine, knowing how much her brother meant to her.
"I have a surprise, [name]," Ei said, grabbing your attention. She was attempted to hide her smile, but failed.
"What is it?"
She slowly brought out a perfected strawberry cake, that was covered in pink frosting with fruits delicately placed on top. She blushed while holding the cake in front of her.
"I made it for you," she shyly said, making you smile.
"I love it, Ei." You leaned over and gave her a kiss on the lips, which lasted for a few seconds. After pulling away, you two began to dig into the various dishes that were prepared earlier. Thirty minutes or so had passed before one of Ei's servants came before you two with a letter. It was from Lumine, saying that she was visiting Inazuma soon. You jumped up in excitement, ready to tell her everything that's happened over the months. After you and Ei finished talking, you went on a walk together. The scenery made the day much better, as the waves seemed to calm over the hours. Ei stopped walking and turned to look at you, making you do the same. She held your hands gently, looking at you with eagerness. She opened her mouth to speak, but was interrupted.
"Almighty Shogun, Lady Miko requests your presence at the Narukami shrine," a guard suddenly said.
She sighed before giving the guard a nod.
"What is it?" You asked, wanting to know what she was about to say. Instead of replying back, she put her arm over your shoulder and walked you back to the picnic area. Sometime during the walk, she muttered something under her breath that was too quiet for you to hear. You gathered the containers of food and placed them into the basket, while she folded the blanket. Once you were done, she grabbed your waist and teleported back to the mansion to put everything away. Washing the dishes, you felt a bit sad that Ei decided not to tell you what was on your mind. Thinking about what it might be, you were distracted when Ei wrapped her arms around your hips, moving her head to the side of yours.
"I love you," she said, nestling her face into your hair.
"Do you trust me?" You asked, sounding a bit harsher than you intended. She frowned at your question.
"Of course I do, [name]," she said, sounding a bit defeated, "I was just thinking about..some things."
"Like what?"
"Our life together," she quickly said, making your eyes widen.
"If you think about it, we might as well get married."
You stopped what you were doing entirely, turning around to look at her as you wrapped your arms around her neck. You smiled at her.
"Miko's waiting for us," you quietly said, signaling to her that marriage was a topic for another time. She smiled back before kissing you, then teleporting the two of you to the shrine. There you saw Lumine, Paimon and Miko talking amongst themselves. Miko was facing the two, meaning she could see you and Ei walking closer.
"Hey, you two," she said, making Lumine and Paimon turn around. You ran up to them in excitement and hugged them, making high pitched squealing noises as you grabbed their hands.
"How have you been?" You quickly asked.
"Good, you've gotten our postcards right?" Paimon asked, which you nodded in response at.
"How are things with you and Ei?" Lumine asked with a smirk, making Paimon cross her arms.
"Amazing," you said with a bright smile, "We've been together for a few months now."
"That's a long time, usually people get married by the-" You cut Paimon off with your hand before she could go any further, catching Miko's attention.
"Relax with the questions," Miko said, "Have you figured out anything about your brother?"
"Unfortunately, not much," Lumine replied, "But we're a step closer to finding him."
"That's great, Lumine," you said, holding her hand in yours, "I hope you find him soon."
She nodded in response, letting go of your hand. Naturally, a conversation started among the five of you, going from one subject to the next. Somehow the Vision Hunt Decree came up, reminding Paimon of something she and Lumine needed to do.
"While we're here," she started, "There's something we have to do for someone in Konda Village. Someone there needs help remembering his past, so we should go there soon."
"What happened to him?" You asked, making Ei shuffle nervously. You only knew that the Vision Hunt Decree actually happened, but you didn't know the side effects. Ei, on the other hand, knew that people often forgot who their past when they had their vision taken, making her hope that you didn't look at her any differently.
"He had his vision taken," Paimon said, not knowing if she should've revealed that information.
"I can accompany you on your journey," you told them, "I want to meet him myself."
Ei gulped anxiously hearing your response, knowing she would have to own up to her mistakes eventually. Everyone agreed on the plans for the rest of the day, as you left with Lumine and Paimon. Forgetting to say goodbye to Ei had affected her more than you knew, as Miko sensed this.
"Relax, Ei," she said, "The truth would come out eventually."
"I know," Ei quietly said, "I just wished that I would be the one to tell her. No one else."
