A fate miles away

The book

When I uncovered the hole the cat was on top of a safe that looked like some sort of book? There was a key hole but i remember seeing a key near the blanket i used last night! I unlocked the box safe to find a book of the person who was last here with the cat. The person who wrote the books name is Alex, he eventually found his way home after.. 1 year in the woods! I'm going to be stuck out here forever! I was reading the book when suddenly o found out that the pages past page 5 were all ripped out of the book! The last thing the book said was "follow the cat, that cat will help you..." Help me what!? Ugh, i guess I'll follow the cat. Right as i closed the book, the cat leaped from the hole the book once was, and started walking away. I grabbed all the supplies i could from the site, and start my journey following this cat. For what seemed like forever, the cat stopped to take a nap break. While the cat was asleep, i tried to see if this cat had a name tag and what gender it was. I didn't touch it though, but from what I saw was the name was Chloe and the cat was a girl. What a nice name, i wonder who owned this cat before it ran away. 30 minutes pass and Chloe finally gets back on her paws again. We both start walking and i try to leave some sort of trail but we all know what happens if you leave a bread crumb trail, so i tried to make a footprint trail. Not the best idea, but it would have to suffice. I start singing a lullaby my father used to sing to me before he would go to work at a construction site. One day while he was working on a new mental institution, a metal pole fell on top of him and killed him. That's why I have his watch, he left it at home that day and when i found out what happened i never was far from it. When I finished the song chloe started staring at me, i don't know why but i just stared back at her. I can't really communicate with a cat so we looked at each other and Chloe started sprinting to a certain direction. I started running after her and we were running for at least 5 minutes before we stopped and saw a cabin up ahead. Great, her owner might be in there and help me get home! So we start walking toward the cabin and i give the door a slight knock. This old man opens the door and looks down at the cat. "Thank you Chloe, i really needed more company" Chloe just runs inside, and left me with the old man to deal with. "What can I do for you kiddo?" I told the man, "I started following this cat while walking in my neighborhood and she lead me here." The old man gestures for me to come inside. I nod, sit sits down so i sat down. I ask the old man, "what are you doing out here on the woods by yourself?" He replies with "I faked my death to get away from people who tried to hurt me, i left someone special behind though." I immediately ask "what's the special persons name?" He takes a moment to ask me a question, "what neighborhood do you live in?" I didn't understand why he would ask me that question, but i replied "pumpkin Wayne drive, what's it to you?" He stares at me in shock, just like Chloe did when I sang the lullaby on the way here. He tells me "Do you know a girl by the name liana by chance?" I was shocked, why would he be asking about me? I didn't want to know so i did something i didn't think i was going to do in the first place. "I did, but she moved a year ago, I'm giana by the way sir!" I lied straight through my teeth. The old man said in return, "My name is Alex. I've lived here alone for ages, why don't you stay with me until you can find out how to get home why dont ya?" I nodded in agreement while he showed me to my room. It wasn't as big as it was at home but it felt.. cozy. Like it was a better fit for me, so i got comfortable and layed down staring at my dad's watch. Alex soon came into my room letting me know it was time for dinner. I head down there to see my favorite meal! Jumbalya! "Wow sir, this is my favorite. Thank you so much!" He said, "oh it's something i make at least once a week, i guess you came here on the right night?" We both chuckled then started digging in. After dinner, i thanked Alex for dinner and went to bed. Let's see where my journey will take me from here.
