◇Eye of the Shadow lightfury [HTTYD x dragon!reader]◇

Chapter 1: A lone dragon

[Bold means that dragons or you are talking,regular is for the humans talking.]

You gently glided through the morning winds,the soft blankets of clouds below you.

The cold breeze at least lightened up your mood,the summers around where your territory felt like you were a yak being cooked on a campfire.That's why today,you decided to go somewhere else that would be better for your new territory.

The air suddenly hit just right,meaning that you are going in the right direction.

Your head moved down as you folded your wings,causing you to glide down.Your body parted the clouds as you flew straight at them,now being above you.As soon as you saw the sea getting closer to your falling self,you spread your wings,causing you to go upwards slightly and start to glide above the sea.The cool blue sky felt just right.

All of a sudden,your sharp blue cat like eyes spotted a remote island not far from where you were flying.Overjoyed,you sped up a bit,but came to a halt as you also spotted some ships with some symbol on their sail.It looked like two swords piercing through what seems to be a dragon.

Then you realized something.Swords going through a dragon,killing it.Killing dragons...your pupils shrunk slightly from shock.

"Dragon hunters..."

You lowly growled to yourself.You fired a hot ball of plasma and quickly flew through it,cloaking yourself from sight.

Then,you landed on top of their sail,to see what those nasty dragon hunters where up to.

"Ey Rei,don't you think this'll be a good price?"

A dragon hunter asked,closing and locking the dragon cage with a monstrous nightmare inside.

"WHEN I GET MY CLAWS ON YOU,YOU'LL BE SORRY,YOU HEAR,TWO LEGGED?!"

The monstrous nightmare roared with rage,flaming himself up in attempt to burn the metal to escape,but it was no use.They were dragon proof cages,that explains the green metal!

The raged dragon began to gnaw on the cage with his jagged teeth,as well as clawing the cage with his sharp claws,but it was completely useless.No matter what,the cage wouldn't budge,whatever the monstrous nightmare did.

You snarled lowly,your claws digging in deeply into the wood of the sail you observed from.What sick,disgusting two legs would do this to a dragon.Don't they have any empathy for them?They should be better off dead.

You fired purple balls of plasma at the dragon hunters,killing them or giving them comas.You then jumped down,uncloaking only your head.

"You,monstrous nightmare.I'm here to rescue you."

You told him,but softly so you wouldn't agitate him.He glared at you,his yellow eyes inspecting you as you uncloaked your whole body.

"A night fury?I thought they were extinct?"

He grumbled,keeping a calm tone so he wouldn't offend you.You were stronger than him after all.

And yet,you were offended,your eyes shrinking slightly,your teeth baring as you growled in a low yet intimidating way.

"I am a light fury!It's obvious that I'm not a night fury!Just look closely at my ear like appendages,and scales,and tail fins!I don't even have spikes!"

You growled,clearly irritated.

The monstrous nightmare paused before talking.

"I'm sorry but what is a light fury?"

He asked,clearly not having any history of seeing one or anything like that.

You rolled your eyes,snarling in annoyance before your paw came up to slap your own face.

"Oh my Irene this is horrible.Y-you know that my scales are supposed to be white and not black...right?"

You said desperately,removing your paw from your face to see if he has even the tiniest bit of knowledge about your species.

And of course,he shook his head.Great.

"Then what are you if you aren't a night fury,and you say that your actual kind,a light fury is supposed to have white scales?"

You paused for a moment before shrugging your wings.

"I am a light fury.I was just-born different I guess I don't know.Ask odin if you want to know so badly!"

Your ocean eyes rolled before looking to the side.You are one sassy dragon,and you were proud of that.

"Uh huh,uh how about this,you actually let me out of this damn cage?"

He asked with slight desperation.

You huffed in annoyance before using your claw as a key and unlocking the cage.

"Why couldn't you plasma blast the cage open?"

He questioned you,crawling out of the cage and slamming it shut behind him with his tail,his neck lowering to meet your height.

"They are dragon proof cages."

"Aren't you powerful enough to do so though?"

"Yeah but I need to find the right temperature of my plasma to break it open,and I have a limit on how many shots of plasma I can do!"

"But you can just do the hottest plasma and it'll work just fine."

"If It reaches a certain temperature,I'll get tired from all the energy I put into that heat I built up!"

You both argued for a bit before stopping and just hearing silence.Well,other than the waves,the boat and the birds.

You deeply exhaled before crouching,spreading you wings and began to flap them as you started to fly back into the sky to continue your mission from earlier.

'Alright,let's see how good this island is for a light fury.'
