Story is about: The life of sibling kitsune gods and their stories before they were turned to stone

One day, around 4,000 years ago the kitsune god had decided to experiment with her abilities. First, she decided to see if her power would work on ice. She had approached a large iceberg and got to work. First, she attempted to control it as she had previously controlled the elements of pyro and geo, when that failed to work she simply did anything that came to her mind. After countless hours of attempted control of the element something finally happened. No, she was unable to control this element, but somehow she was able to convert it. There, where a large chunk of ice was previously, there was a sleeping human child. Wait, no, that can't be right, how would this child be human? It had fox ears and a large, fluffy, tail. Could this be a kitsune? Had Ogari just created another kitsune?
Ogari kind of just stood there for a second, in shock. She thought to herself about the situation. Was it alive? If so, how long could she keep it alive? Does she count as the mother? Is she ready for motherhood? It all raced through her mind and she slightly panicked as she was only about a thousand years old and not ready for this. When the child began to move and make noise she jumped. She knew it would not be morally right to just leave a toddler here so her only option was to take it home with her.
Once she arrived at her home she looked for a safe place to set the child down. There just so happened to be one problem. She lives on the top of a mountain. Eventually, she gave up and placed it on the floor. As the only current kitsune previous to this child's existence, she had no experience in raising one. She thought of maybe turning to her parental figure, Morax, but she didn't feel like bothering him so shortly after leaving. Once she calmed down she allowed herself to take on this responsibility. This was her kid, she's going to take care of it. She promised herself that for as long as she had to she would feed, clothe, and clean this child.

As a few hundred years passed the child grew. If he was a mortal he would now be considered the age of a toddler. Ogari had named him Drakemo and he possessed the power of cryo. Ogari was pretty satisfied with her life at that time but she still yearned to know how far she could extend this power and so she headed toward the shoreline of the island she lived on and readied herself. This time she had decided to focus a bit more on her methods. This time it only took a few minutes to succeed and at last a small, blue, fox pup was formed. Unlike her previous child this one did not take the form of a human. She smiled, proud of herself and excited for new life to be around her. Much quicker than Drakemo she named her new kid after only a day. Her name was Kaiyo, and similar to Ogari she had the ability to go in and out of her full kitsune form as she pleased.
Despite Kaiyo's clear superiority, Ogari never treated her children differently from each other. They each received the same amount of love and discipline and were also taught to control their emotions as well as Ogari knew. Drakemo grew at a rapid rate, somehow even surpassing his mother's height as he entered what would be considered his teenage years. He was kind most of the time but also quite arrogant. Kaiyo's entrance into her teens did not go as well. She remained about a foot shorter than her mother and was quite a hothead. Most little things pissed her off and she entered a point in life where she and others realized just how big her kitsune form could get. Normally this form was only 36 feet tall, with a wingspan of 58 feet. In this mad state she would grow up to 50 feet tall with a wingspan of nearly double that. The settlers of old inazuma and the animals were terrified of getting squashed by her. As her mother and now knowing she had control over all kitsunes Ogari would quickly defuse the situation and make sure minimal harm came to people. However, as Kaiyo got older this form became more dangerous and uncontrollable, at some points she even ended up hurting Drakemo. Ogari was unable to stop her without causing her harm and not wanting to hurt her daughter she decided to work on helping Kaiyo handle her emotions.
While Kaiyo received this extra attention from Ogari, Drakemo became jealous at this sudden change of equality. He believed that without his mother to even out the love he would have to turn to the people. In mortal years he would've been considered around the age of 18 when he went down to socialize with the humans. Unsurprisingly, they all loved him. In time he was presented with gifts and shrines, only fueling his ego. Kaiyo was able to finally manage her emotions properly and no longer transformed into a destructive state. As a form of payback for the times she had hurt him, Drakemo began to bully her. It began as nitpicks about her actions and words but eventually it escalated to publicly humiliating her. He showed off his shrines, the people who admire him, and even told his followers bad things about her.
Ogari did not approve of this and sternly lectured Drakemo on the topic. The bullying did stop after that as he did not want to get in trouble with his mother. His relationship with Kaiyo was mended for many years after that but the damage had already been done. Kaiyo had become more reserved, not going out into public during the day, not interacting with others apart from family. Oftentimes she would only be seen sitting, ears down, looking out at the ocean. She was clearly upset but she knew her strong emotions could not be expressed, it was too dangerous. She appeared happy to the common eye but her mother knew better. Ogari tried her best to cheer up Kaiyo but deep down she knew her daughter would never be the same.

Once news of the archon war hit the kitsune family the children were ecstatic. Kaiyo had always wanted to leave and do something new and Drakemo wanted to know just how strong he could be. They went to the shore and prepared to fly off but.. Kaiyo hesitated. This was her home, as much as the people made fun of her she knew that her mother would always love her. And plus, it wasn't all bad, she at least had one hidden shrine that a nice family visited frequently. She told her brother she was considering staying but this seemed to take him upset. He told her that if she stayed that he would no longer be her friend and would never forgive her. Reluctantly, she joined him.
They did wonderful in the war, crushing opponent after opponent. Of course there were those that were stronger than them, but those enemies were mostly avoided. Many believed they were on their way to becoming archons with how well they were going. There was just one thing. Many of the people out here, even some of the other gods they fought, they all still favored Drakemo more. Despite Kaiyo being the more sociable, stronger, and more intelligent sibling they always liked her brother more. Why? Why was he always considered better than her? Was there something wrong with her? What was it that made him so special? Why? Why? But even though Kaiyo had all these thoughts racing in her head begging to get out, she remained silent. As much as she envied her brother she still knew deep down that she loved him. But did she really?
At some point, nearing the end of the archon war, the two kitsune siblings stood below a tree. Here is where they both came to accept that they were likely to be victors of this battle. Drakemo was happy with this, he would get an entire nation with plenty or worshippers to feed his ego. While Kaiyo, well, she was the near opposite. She did not believe she was the right person to lead, but she also knew that Drakemo would be a more terrible leader than her. She ended up voicing her thoughts as best she could to her brother but he reacted negatively. An argument sparked because Drakemo thought his sister was attempting to insult him and make him believe that he does not deserve the right to be a nation's leader. The fight turned physical after a while and the fight seemed as if it may go on for an eternity. Even with this Kaiyo's only thoughts were to keep herself calm, to not be a cause of destruction. For only a minute did things cool down, both siblings recovering from their injuries, only a minute did another god need to defeat them both.
A sudden feeling of numbness and heaviness sent a shock through their bodies and they both stopped dead in their tracks. A tan gentleman in a top hat revealed himself, stepping out from the side of the tree not facing Kaiyo and Drakemo. He introduced himself as Samuel and seemed very kind but the siblings found this odd. His smirk was a little too wide, his eyes just a little too bright. Drakemo prepared for battle but was stopped by a wave of the finger from Samuel. He told them that if they attempted resistance that it would only do him harm. The dark man then went on to explain that he has already cursed them, that their bodies would be turned to stone til' the end of time. However, he said that it would be simple for them to escape, that the curse could be broken only if they were equally loved at any point. By the time he was done explaining Drakemo's torso had already been solid stone as was Kaiyo's body up to her bust. They both just looked at eachother, knowing their fate. Kaiyo and Drakemo knew that Kaiyo would never be truly loved as much as her brother. That would be the trick in this curse. It would never be broken. Kaiyo could feel that her neck was stone now as well. But she didn't say anything. Why would she? Sure she was filled with anger, sadness and pain but was it even really worth anything if she let it out now? Her life was over. All she did was turn her head to her brother, the only body part she could move at the time, and smile. Drakemo knew, he knew he couldn't do anything, he wanted to so badly, but he wouldn't. As he was the taller sibling his transformation would take less time, and so all he knew he could do was stare at his sister, his sister that was now stone. Instead of sadness or guilt all he felt in his final moments was that he was scared, angry, that this was all Kaiyo's fault because he did not want to take the blame himself. And with that, those were his last thoughts before he was consumed by the curse.
The ending of his transformation sent a shockwave about the land. It pushed the other god back into the tree while also separating the siblings' statues to different lands. Drakemo's statue would end up on a large iceberg in what would later be Snezhnaya. That iceberg would be constantly melting into a long river that traveled through different nations until it ended in a hidden place in what would later become Fontain. In this hidden place lay Kaiyo's statue. In those places, with those feelings, there is where they would remain sealed away for thousands of years.
