Just as quickly as her consciousness had faded it had returned. Bright sunlight filled Kaiyo's eyes and she winced at the sudden burning. Slowly, she regained sight and feeling in her limbs. The first thing she saw was a blue haired boy, about the same height as her, staring in shock. He wore an eyepatch with a flame colored stone embedded in it and the visible eye was a bright purple. The boy took a step back and exclaimed many names, such as Sylvie, Mathilde, and Louise. Kaiyo cocked her head in confusion, unaware of who any of these names were referring to. The boy quickly responded with an explanation and an introduction. His name was Fon, he had been taking care of her statue since he was little and had decided he'd attempt to break the curse sealing her there. He had a schedule he followed in order to enter the garden she had landed in, cleaning her stone form and occasionally having picnics in the area. He explained that the names he had yelled out in his initial state of shock were the things he had called her as he did not know her name at the time. Kaiyo began a short conversation with the young man, telling him her name, who she was, how she got there, and about her brother. With that, she gasped, asking where she was. When Fon told her she was in Fontain she thanked him for freeing her and left to find her brother.
Meanwhile, a few nations over, Drakemo also awakened. As soon as his ability to move came back he flailed around. As his vision returned as well he could see he was surrounded by many, many women. All were staring in shock before they began to argue about something. Drakemo's ears rang and he couldn't make out a word anyone was saying. He covered his ears and hid himself with his wings, hitting many of the people around him in the process. After a few seconds he was able to slightly hear some of the conversations taking place around him. Nearly all femminene voices say things such as 'I freed him!' 'No I did!' and the occasional 'Why is he acting like that'. He stood up and almost fell back again before questioning where he was. A few of the women there answered his question. He was currently located on one of the giant icebergs in Snezhnaya. Drakemo went silent after this. Why was he there? Before he knew it he was seated at a chair and began getting treatment as if he were an archon. The women served him food and gave him small gifts simply because he was there. The women around him were whispering comments about him. Some comments were about how attractive he was, how finally they must've loved him enough for him to gain freedom, and many sexual comments that he'd prefer that he didnt hear.
After about half an hour passed, Drakemo spotted a flying figure in the sky approaching him. He readied himself for battle and stared at the figure rapidly diving in his direction. Only once it had been right up in his face had he recognised it. It was his sister, Kaiyo. She greeted Drakemo and acted as if they were long-time buddies. Why was she doing that? Why was she talking about everything as if nothing was wrong. Drakemo decided to voice his concerns. He questioned her, in a quite demanding manner, why she was so calm, how could she act like everything was okay after that. Kaiyo appeared taken aback by this statement before Drakemo continued. He stated that, clearly, she was the reason they were turned to stone and that if she had just stopped being so emotional all the time this would've never happened. Kaiyo's expression changed drastically. Her lips raised and her eyebrows lowered as she cut off his next words. She sternly asked him about how she was the cause of this. How was she the emotional one? She has been bottling up her emotions for his sake for hundreds of years, she only ever left Inazuma because he pressured her. Drakemo attempted to get a word in but he failed. Kaiyo continued lecturing him, voice raising with every step toward him she took. Afraid, Drakemo was backing down.
He looked around at those who had been worshiping him only moments before staring in terror at a man they treated as their god. His fear turned back to anger at Kaiyo for ruining his reputation. Why must she always do this? Why must she ruin everything? He finally managed to form a sentence without being stopped by his sister. He yelled at Kaiyo about how she ruined his life, trying to regain his power over the situation. The kitsune siblings stood there merely making eye contact for a few moments before Kaiyo moved. Drakemo flew across the iceberg they stood on and skidded across the floor several times before his balance came back to him. When he raised his head again to look at his sister there was a large red mark and a few small cuts on his cheek. Arm still raised, all Kaiyo would do is stare at her brother with hatred. She had tried to mend their relationship for so long, so long. Her pupils had become more dilated than usual and her fangs were unusually long. Drakemo was unable to do anything before his sister flew off, the strength of her takeoff blowing back some of the people at the scene.
Drakemo was shocked and embarrassed. How could she have done this in front of so many people? It seemed she was always out to make him seem weak to his followers. Multiple women came over to comfort him and ask if he was okay, once again treating him as they would treat their very own god. He swiftly stood up, stating that he was fine and she was too weak to have hurt him despite the fact that half of his face was already swelling. In his state of foolishness he failed to realize Kaiyo's emotional, dangerous, mental state.
At the same time of Drakemo's recovery Kaiyo was returning to inazuma. She managed to calm down and focus on getting through the storm. Of course she managed to narrowly escape lightning that seemed almost intentionally directed at her by using the sea as a sort of shield. She eventually landed in a familiar place, it maybe was a tad bit overgrown and some piles of blown up dirt were there but she knew the area. She smiled in excitement as she walked towards the destination of her shrine which couldn't be too far. Sadly, that smile turned into a frown rather quickly. There it was, her only shrine, in ruins. She fell to her knees wondering what could've happened here. Had the one family that loved her so abandoned this place? But why would they? In an attempt to keep her emotions in control all she could do was tidy up the place. She washed off an old, dirty cloth that was nearby using her hydro power and began scrubbing what could be salvaged. She worked for around fifteen minutes before coming across a terrible sight. Four skeletons, all different sizes mostly buried beneath the soil. She clenched her fists so hard that her nails cut into her palms. An aged paper lay buried with one of the smaller skeletons. Everything was barely readable apart from the date. Nearly two thousand years ago. The family, which seemed to be the last to ever visit her shrine, had died nearly two thousand years ago. She was enraged by this. Something or someone had killed this family and destroyed her shrine. Kaiyo cried out, all of her emotions spilling out at once. She ran out of the shrine, out of inazuma, going as high up as she could trying to escape it all, maybe she'd die, she didn't care.
Once she was maybe a few hundred feet in the air she grew cold and her breathing shallow. At some point her body gave up and she began her descent. As she turned during her fall her wings caught some air which broke her fall a little but she still ended up hitting the ground very hard. A few cracks could be heard. People surrounded her, questioning who she was, if she was okay, and where she had come from. It took five minutes for Kaiyo to be awakened by a random civilian. She groaned as she felt horrible pains in her legs, left wrist, face, wings, and collarbone. Warm blood ran down her back and face, after trying to talk she found herself unable to speak. She wanted to get up but tripped as she stood, falling face first back into the pavement. When she tried again she was successful in holding her balance but when she tried to walk she found that someone was holding on to her, preventing her from leaving the area. The man said something, but she didn't hear him. She hit him, hard. The man went flying, breaking a wall and landing in a building, likely dead. Children's eyes were covered, people ran away, people screamed, they gasped, they stepped back, everything. Only now did Kaiyo observe her surroundings. She was in Fontain. Based on her previous view from above when she had left the place, she knew she was close to where her statue had been. She then began the painful walk back to where she had started.
As she walked a million things went through her mind. Why had she lived through the fall? Why had she ever lived at all? If all she was was a burden to the people around her why should she stay around? Why couldn't she have stayed stone? She would have the man who turned her into stone do it again if she could. Why was she like this? Was it her fault? No. No it had never been her fault. It was all her brother's fault. It was all Drakemo's fault. Her body gave out and she crumbled to the floor. She just couldn't do it anymore. She no longer cared about anyone or anything. And with that, the kitsune was released.
It destroyed many buildings, crushed many people under its feet, and many people lost their lives. Animals and people fled the area, but most did not make it out in time. Streets were flooded and close to nowhere was safe. By now it had gained the attention of the hydro archon who was very upset by the chaos it had caused. She was summoned to fight the kitsune, who had put up quite the fight. However, with a gnosis the kitsune was losing against the archon, and so it fled. It crossed over the border to Natlan, where the hydro archon was not permitted to battle. With more anger than before, the kitsune grew a few feet and rose in power. More cities destroyed, more lives lost, more floods caused. Everywhere it went someone died. While some civilians died a quick death by being crushed by the paws of this beast, many died slowly and painfully after drowning or being chewed up and eaten. Clearly, this once again drew the attention of multiple gods in the nation. They all prepared for battle and approached the kitsune. They were going to fight before Something landed, stunning the gods and the kitsune nearby. It was Drakemo.
About ten minutes earlier Drakemo had been sitting down on a throne crafted specifically for him by the many women who were in love with him. It was then that he heard cries of hundreds of people dying. He was cursed with the hearing to notice this. His ears flattened to his head when he realized what was going on. He knew those sounds far too well. He had to get up, rushing to the scene so maybe he could stop the disaster that was going on. The noise led him to the nation of Natlan, where the streets were flooded with water from an unknown source. Then there was the unmistakable sight of his sister in her full kitsune form. There nearby her there were a few gods that were approaching. One that radiated power, whom she assumed to be the pyro arcon, and a woman who radiated a similar amount of power. He knew she wouldn't beat them, he knew she was likely to die in this battle. Despite every instinct telling him not to, he landed and got involved. While the other gods were distracted and Kaiyo was no longer on guard, he made his move. He put all his power into a hit that surely had to defeat her, if it didn't he was fucked. The kitsune's figure shot through the sky, Drakemo following. They landed in Inazuma, where Drakemo caught his breath thinking that he had won. Boy, was he wrong.
Around two hours earlier Ogari had felt disturbed. Something was wrong, or was it right? She didn't know but remained on guard in case something happened. She then heard a cry, a very familiar cry. But, how? Her child had been turned to stone thousands of years ago. She had to know though, she just had to. She rushed to where she had heard her baby's crying only to find nothing. What else did she expect? She knew her children were never coming back. Still, something was off. This had been a shrine to her first daughter that was destroyed what seemed to be beyond repair many centuries ago. But, why did it seem cleaner here? Why were previously buried skeletons now at the surface? She walked towards a rag that was on the floor, picking it up. It was damp. Why was it damp? There were no water sources nearby. Her nose was then overwhelmed with a scent she had not smelled for so long. Kaiyo had been here, she had just missed it. She ran around Inazuma in case her child had still been there. She found nothing. Feeling saddened, she returned to the shrine her daughter had first been. After only a minute or two there was a loud crash outside, one that would have damaged the eardrums of any mortal nearby.
What a fucking idiot Drakemo had been. Had he overestimated his own power or underestimated his sister's? Kaiyo had grown maybe ten feet, now raising to a height of fifty feet. Seven tails she had, only five Drakemo had. He couldn't beat her, however, the least he could do was hold her back until someone stronger could arrive. In order to keep the land of Inazuma safe he created an ice arena around him and his sister, at least he hoped it was still his sister. This was all his fault. Why was he such a bitch? Why had he driven her to this point? His thoughts were cut short by bursts of pain as he was hit into the ice wall after the giant kitsune turned and slapped him with her tails. The ice cracked when he hit it, shards piercing his skin through his coat. Before he could think anything at all he was choked by his cloak as he rose in the air. Kaiyo had been grabbing him like a helpless kitten by the hood of his cloak. He had to abandon the cloak and nearly fall to the floor before he flew up and caught himself. He created an ice sword and charged at his sister. He managed to get a few blows to her chest and face before getting hit to the ground again. He found himself in the kitsune's mouth, getting crushed by her bite force. He put multiple icicles in between her teeth in an attempt to escape before she killed him, and he was able to almost leave. He was halfway out when he believed he would be safe but then he heard shattering and then a terrible pain in his arm. A crack and a pop later he was hanging by his arm from Kaiyo's jaw. He screamed and cried out. He called for his mother, for anyone to save him. He was cowardly.
The fight went on, Kaiyo breaking and dislocating many bones and joints. Drakemo was crying, he had only gotten a few decent blows to her body. She was barely even bleeding. Drakemo was ready to give up fighting when a small fox entered the ring. It approached Drakemo with a note tied around its neck. The note read "I am watching" in writing Drakemo knew very well. Ogari was watching him, she knew she only had to interfere if she knew Drakemo could not do this himself. This gave him motivation. He yelled at his sister, begging her to stop. He screamed about how he was sorry, he was so sorry. He was wrong to think his actions would not have consequences. He told her it was all his fault, he was sorry, he never wanted this. He was too absorbed by his own ego to realize what he had done to his sister. With that, the kitsune seemed to calm down, that was until she hit him again. He cried out, apologizing over and over again, crying that he wanted his sister back. He could no longer move, he was so, so tired. He continued to repeat his previous statements, praying that she would stop. And she did.
The giant kitsune cried and shrank, eventually returning to her original state. She was buried in the folds of her dress, sobbing. The ice around them melted as their mother, surrounded by tiny kitsunes, approached. She just stared at both of her firstborns for a moment, then she collapsed, crying. She hugged both of her kids tight, going a bit easy on Drakemo so as to not cause him any more pain than he was already in. Through her sobs she expressed how much she loved and had missed them, that she was so sorry she had let them be taken for her. She told them how she had already punished that god who had done this to them, that she should've been a better mother. She turned to Kaiyo, apologizing for not teaching her how to keep her kitsune in check in a healthier manner, then she turned to Drakemo, apologizing for not properly teaching him how to express his emotions. They all sat there and cried.
The kitsune siblings eventually got the medical attention they needed only after Ogari claimed how much she loved them at least a dozen times. While they both recovered physically anyone could be sure they could never recover mentally. Kaiyo became very pissy, snapping at anyone for anything. Drakemo became more quiet, but did return to a version of his old self. His ego was a bit lower and he was less harsh on people. Kaiyo would never return to the kind lady she had been before. It didn't take long for Kaiyo to be told she was no longer welcome in Inazuma, despite the fight being contained she had still caused far too much damage to Inazuma and had become a threat to eternity. She had to leave immediately to avoid conflict with the shogun. She also was no longer welcome in Fontain or Natlan so she was unable to go back to where her statue had lay. She didn't know where to go. She did end up receiving word from the young blue haired boy, Fon, that she would always be welcome in Mondstat where he currently lived. And so it was final, she'd be going to Mondstat for her own protection. Drakemo, who had also been banned from remaining or ever entering Inazuma, tried to join her. Kaiyo didn't like this, she threatened to slit his throat if he dared to follow him, so he left her alone and decided to return to Snezhnaya.
And so there it was. Kaiyo had gone to live with her only friend and Drakemo went back to being a god to the women of Snezhnaya. Drakemo would never be forgiven and he accepted that. Ogari lived in peace knowing that at least her children were alive and safe, sure they weren't on the best terms but at least they were alive. At least it hadn't gone another way. What if Drakemo had been unable to defeat his sister?
