Seokjin entered the vast mansion with caution. Only this morning he had had a furious debate with his parents whether he should have accepted this position or not but Seokjin knew why he had done it. Mr Jeon had offered him a compensation that went above and beyond his annual earnings. Seokjin knew his family, especially his ailing father, would need the funds for his treatment. He would give up every comfort for his parents. Although his parents had voiced their displeasure at having their son living away from them, they had eventually acquiesced and accepted it; Seokjin was a capable adult and they knew they could trust their son.
He smiled politely as the driver carried his bags in and placed them down before him. His patient had already been discharged and was on his way in the hospital ambulance. Seokjin had come in earlier to install himself in his designated quarters so as to be at Jungkook's disposal when he would arrive.
"Nurse Kim," the beautiful woman that he had met at the hospital greeted him with a smile, "I can't thank you enough for doing this for our Jungkook. And I just want to apologise at the outset for my husband's behavior. I was told that he was quite rude to you. Please accept my apologies on his behalf."
"Oh no Mrs Jeon, please don't apologise. I can understand how he must have felt. I'm just concerned about my patient. Would it be possible to point me in the direction of my quarters so I can be in readiness for when he does arrive?"
Mrs Jeon smiled warmly.
"There's no need to be so formal my dear. You can have the guest bedroom on Jungkook's floor. I wouldn't dream of having you in the domestic quarters."
Seokjin was taken aback. He did not expect this hospitality from the Jeons. He had done some research on the family the night before and he had found that they were extremely rich and powerful. He had felt quite intimidated that he had so hastily accepted the offer to work for them but seeing how polite and thoughtful Mrs Jeon was, he seemed relieved.
"Mrs Jeon, I wouldn't want any of your workers to feel as though you are being partial to me. Please, I will be quite fine in the domestic quarters," Seokjin tried again.
"No Nurse Kim, you don't understand. My son's health is my top priority and having you as close to him as possible is the best solution. Besides, what if he needs to be attended to at night and you're too far away for him to reach you? No, I couldn't take that risk."
Seokjin sighed but nodded his head in agreement. Mrs Jeon's argument did make sense.
"Very well Mrs Jeon. And thank you. I appreciate your thoughtfulness. I agree with you; it would be best if I was close to him."
"Come Nurse Kim, let us get you settled then before Jungkook does arrive. He can be quite the handful," she smiled softly thinking about her son.
Seokjin picked up his bags and followed Mrs Jeon as she indicated for a staff to show him his rooms on the upper level. Fortunately, Seokjin noted, they had had an elevator installed. That was quite convenient since Jungkook had injured his leg and wouldn't be able to walk up stairs.
Seokjin had just settled himself in his room that spoke of opulence, when he heard a soft knock on his door. He opened it slowly only to find a little girl standing before him. She smiled politely at him as she scanned his person.
"Hello there. I'm Nurse Kim. How may I help you?" Seokjin smiled at the pretty child with straight black hair and a cute button nose. She had full lips and a soft smile.
"Hello Nurse Kim. I am Jeon ChinSun. Grammy says you're here to take care of Papa Jungkook?"
The child smiled sweetly at Nurse Kim who looked rather stunned at first but quickly collected himself.
