Epilogue

Me and Louis have officially been married for 50 years today. I am the most lucky old lady in the world. I have 7 wonderful children, James, Nikki, Blake, Kevin, Jessa and Jacob who gave me a total of 18 grandchildren. Crazy I think yes.

"Hello love of my life." I heard a defeated voice close by. I turned over to see my handsome husband on the hospital bed to the right of me. "Happy anniversary."

I smiled.

"You remembered?" I asked. He has been losing his memory on and off for a couple years now. Occasionally forgetting one of our grand child's names not of course meaning it.

"Of course, we've been doing this for a long time now." He joked. He still had it in him. Then he reached to the side of his bed. "I had Jim get this for me yesterday." He held out a small box his hand shaking will handing it to me. I held the small box and opened it and there was the most beautiful necklace I've ever laid eyes on.

"Oh Lou." I said my eyes watering a bit and I scooted closer to him giving him a kiss on the lips. I put on the necklace and traced the L.

"Also this. It has all the kids birthstones." He smiled. He handed me and bracelet. Tears were coming down hard now. "Don't cry. I hate it when you cry. It makes me want to cry."

"I haven't got you anything Lou." I sobbed.

"You gave me love. Always remember that I love you more than anything in this world. I'm so blessed to have met you Katie boo." I chuckled at the name he randomly called me.

"I love you too Loubear." I laughed and he did too. The sides of his eyes crinkled. I think I fell more in love with him if that's possible.
