Lizzie POV

"Seriously Hope, what the hell are we doing at a freaking circus?"

Hope sighed and was already looking as if the very question was bothering her.

"It's a carnival Lizzie. Plus it is a great place for me to whip you into shape and see those vampire skills in action for myself."

I tutted and Hope whipped around.

"Hope you have been a tribrid for all of 5 minutes. Plus I have the being a vampire down to a tee. Did you not see how I basically saved your life against Jen?"

Hope smirked and grabbed a pair of sunglasses off a passer-by who she then compelled to move along. Putting them on she turned to me again.

"Easy Lizzie. Sneaking up on someone when they are distracted and fighting them head on is another level entirely. You will find Aurora won't be that easy unless we both have our abilities at full strength. Now stop acting like a 6 year old and we can begin. Follow me."

Hope marched on and I followed because its not as if I had a choice in the matter. I could practically feel the pull of the sire bond already in action if I focused and the thing is I wasn't sure if it was comforting that I wasn't totally alone or not. Hope's hips swayed as I followed and watched as she walked up to the woman selling tickets.

Though before she spoke to her she turned and focused all her attention on me. Hope's no humanity look was piercing and calculated. Always looking for ways to torment and penetrate anyone's mind. I swear she was thinking of all the ways to fuck with me later as well as this moment we were both in.

"Okay my baby Heretic. First lesson is dealing with compulsion. Go talk to that beautiful ticket seller and get us in without paying."

"Baby Heretic." I echoed.

Hope pushed her sunglasses down and looked over them at me.

"Hush hush. Go and do it."

I seethed and walked up as Hope waved a dismissive hand and stepped back. I leaned and focused as I spoke to the girl.

"Please allow us into this circus. Er I mean Carnival and also don't ask for money."

I stepped back and even had the audacity to throw a smirk over my shoulder at Hope. She seemed impassive as the girl in front of me spoke.

"Yeah no problem I can....."

I chuckled.

"After you pay the entrance fee of 40 dollars of course."

My face dropped and it was now Hope who was chuckling. Not even just a chuckle but proper laughter. Something hit me and I realised Hope had taken off her sunglasses and tossed them at me. I was thinking of trying to hit her but she was closer to the other girl now.

"Forgive my blonde friend. She thinks because she is pretty that she gets whatever she wants. But let us is and give us all the money you made today."

The girl smiled dreamily and handed her the huge stack of money that she had beside her without a second thought. Hope turned to me and grinned.

"See how easy it is. The score is 1-0. Come along my underling."

Hope walked away and I swore the girl watched her leave while glancing up and down. I decided to show her something else to look at and bared my fangs as my eyes turned red. The girl freaked out and looked scared as hell.

Hope turned around to see me smiling.

"Why are you so happy? You aren't doing well at all."

"Oh nothing. I like my new look."
