1. Do not tell us that we are faking, because we're not

A lot of people with Tourette's and tics get this from others that are not fully educated about this condition and they think they're cool by saying it, but they really aren't.

2. Do not tell us to stop ticcing and that we can control them

We cannot control our tics. That is why they are involuntary. And we can't stop them from happening. People who don't fully understand how this condition works, may think that it's easy to stop them and to control them, but we cannot.

3. Do not mock our tics

If you're already annoyed with someone's tics, don't mock them. That will make them worse and make you even more annoyed with the tics.

4. Do not get offended when a person's tics makes them say or do offensive things

Again, our tics are involuntary. We cannot control what we say or do with our body with our tics. For example, someone could have the tic of flipping you off. They aren't doing it just to do it. They are not trying to do something mean and rude on purpose.

This is all I have for this story. I thought, especially since it is Tourette's Awareness Month, I should finish this story. And I am happy to have now educated people who don't fully understand Tourette's and tic disorders and for people that wanted to learn about it!! 💖
