"Have you gotten word of any Omega activity?" Arien asked, also stifling a yawn. His appearance makes him the most sought after boy in Hyperion, but they are nothing to him. He is also the most feared in Hyperion, at least after Axen.
"No," Avalon replied, looking quite bored with the conversation, "and it's shocking. Something's up, and its put them into hiding."
Kaia looked out into the distant sky. It was getting darker out, which was when Omega started their operations. Kaia, mesmerized by the sky's beauty, failed to notice the arrow that was coming at her.
Avalon did.
He broke the connection with Arien, and ran towards Kaia, intent on stopping that arrow.
He was too late.
The arrow slashed through her chest, leaving a huge hole where the arrow had passed cleanly through.
