Morgan started to stand up, but Xenjii pushed her back down.
"You need to stay there for now." Xenjii told her quietly, joining her on the ground. "Whoever sent that toward us is trying to kill us, and I will not stand to see you dead."
Morgan could only look at him. She knew that he had a crush on her, but she didn't know it was this big.
Xenjii, reading her mind, replied,"It IS that big of a deal, Morgan. You are the only one I think about, day and night."
Another fireball raced toward them, this time green. Xenjii pushed her flat on the ground, covering her body with his.
The forest was already on fire, but the green fireball made it 10 times worse. It struck the same tree, but the fireball create a heat wave that threatened to melt them both.
"Morgan...I need you to do something very important for me." Xenjii whispered to her, coughing in the process. "I need you to teleport out of here."
She stared at him in disbelief, tears streaming down her face from the cloying smoke. She couldn't believe he was saying this.
"I won't leave without you, Xenjii...I've fallen in love with you."
