                                                               "Music playing in those vibes
                                                                          We each stretch
                                                                     Getting rid of the nerves
If I hid my heart, I would've regretted it
                                                                 Watching this sunset with you"

Kohana didn't say a word the entire way back to the dorms. She ignored Eunji's barbs and didn't engage with Freya's attempts at conversation. All she did was nod absentmindedly, her mind swirling with thoughts she couldn't quite shake.

"The day after tomorrow, I have to see him. Why so soon?" she sighed aloud, her voice barely a whisper.

"Kohana-chan, we're here," Airi gently shook her arm.

Still, Kohana stayed quiet.

"Unnies, can you go ahead without us? I want to talk to our little maknae," Airi requested softly.

Freya smiled warmly. "Okay, just be careful, you two. Don't forget curfew. We'll see you later."

"Unnie, let's get some food," Eunji complained, tugging Freya along.

Once the others were gone, Airi turned to Kohana, playfully slapping her arm. "Kohana-chan, what's going on? You've been out of it all evening."

Kohana snapped out of her trance and sighed. "Oh, it's nothing. I'm fine."

"Liar!" Airi called her out with a grin. "We've been friends for six years! I know when something's bothering you. Now, spill it."

"Hey! You're not that much older than me," Kohana shot back, her voice carrying a small bite of humor. "Fine, I'll tell you. It's this whole sharing-a-space-with-BTS thing. It's messing with my head."

Airi tilted her head, confused. "Why? You're not ARMY like me or Freya."

Kohana's expression grew serious. "Remember how I told you about my last dance battle back home?"

"Yeah, the one where your classmate would only battle you solo? What does that have to do with BTS?"

Airi had heard the story plenty of times—Kohana's stories of her self-proclaimed archrival—but she never knew the guy's name. Kohana always just referred to him as that boy.

Kohana took a deep breath and lowered her voice. "Well, that boy... his name is Jung Hoseok."

Airi's jaw dropped. "What!? You used to battle the sunshine of Bangtan? J-Hope?!"

"Shh! Not so loud!" Kohana panicked, quickly covering Airi's mouth. "Yes, him. Now, please, keep it down before someone hears."

Airi's eyes gleamed with disbelief. "I knew you were from Ilgok-dong, Gwangju, but... you went to school with J-Hope? Why didn't you tell me? Is that why you joined Big Hit? So you could face him again?"

"No, it's not like that," Kohana said, rubbing her temples. "Big Hit recruiting me was a coincidence. You should know, we auditioned together, and you refused JYP. I didn't tell you because you're such a BTS fangirl, and out of respect for his privacy, I didn't want to spread it around. Him and I haven't spoken since I was sixteen, after the last dance battle. You know what happened that day, and the video is still buried on YouTube. I try not to think about it. My mom pulled me out of the academy, and I got shipped off to Tokyo. My reputation as a street dancer was ruined that day. It was one of the worst moments of my life."
