A/N: some emotions, some happiness, and some trouble

Your POV:

The next few weeks were nothing but none stop work. You did your job and came home to Clyde, where you both did your own thing until you collapsed into bed.

Starting a nonprofit was daunting. There was research to be done and laws to brush up on and so many things to learn. You needed to craft a mission statement and a vision statement and think about 3- and 5- and 10-year plans - all things you had only thought of in passing before but now needed to form and spell out more concretely.

You wouldn't have been able to do it all without the help of your bear, always tending to you - giving you massages and making you tea and sometimes even picking you up and taking you to bed when you fell asleep at your desk or on the couch.

You cherished how supportive Clyde was of you, and you thanked your lucky stars that you both had passions of your own to pursue and help each other with. You knew you had the cream of the crop when it came to boyfriends, winning the lottery when you landed Clyde, and you felt it even more acutely whenever he shared those dedicated parts of himself with you.

You treasured listening to Clyde talk about the bar, his eyes lighting up as he talked about a new drink or an upcoming event. Clyde's devotion was always evident in his mannerisms, and you knew that he felt similarly towards you when you talked about your nonprofit.

Clyde would always check in on you and your progress, making sure you were taking care of yourself but also providing a good bouncing board for ideas and developments in your planning. You appreciated his questioning and insight, and it didn't hurt that you loved the way his brows would furrow when he was thinking deeply, his lips pouting without him even noticing.

It was another one of those busy days, a Sunday where you were both off of work and doing your own thing. It was one of your favorite pastimes, to be working on a project or reading an article or book while Clyde was nearby doing similarly. You liked having him in the same room as you, even if you were each absorbed in your own world.

But today was different, and you felt it as soon as Clyde loudly closed his book, grabbing your attention. "Sweetheart, we've been workin' to the bone and it ain't right," he began, looking all serious and grumpy like he did when he had an idea he couldn't shake and he wasn't to be argued with.

"I think it's 'bout time I take you on a date, darlin'. I don't want you runnin' off to someone else just because yer old man is too caught up in work to take you out all proper," Clyde continued, setting aside his book and leaning in, elbows on his knees.

You couldn't help but laugh at the look of slight distress on Clyde's face, his sincerity and determination tugging at your heartstrings - as if you'd ever consider being with anyone but him. You put away your own research materials and got up, lightly pushing Clyde back into the couch as you plopped onto his lap, ready to set things right.

"Clyde, I can guarantee that I won't go running anywhere," you started, looping your arms around his neck as you leaned in to kiss his cheek.

"But a more formal date does sound really nice... especially when we've both been working so hard," you continued, nudging his jaw with your nose, taking in the wonderful warm scent that was all Clyde.

It had been a long couple of weeks, and while you both spent most of your time together, there hadn't been much time for planned out dates. Of course, you felt loved and cared for in the little things - the dinner made when you came home or the way you woke up in Clyde's arms and in bed when you knew you'd passed out elsewhere.
