I could be red or I could be yellow

I could be blue or I could be purple

I could be green or pink or black or white

I could be every colour you like.

Stella Jang- Colours

Wu Xie opens the closet of Zhang Qiling's closet to put the clothes he just folded. His movements halted while his eyes divert between the clothes in his hand and the closet. He knows all along Zhang Qiling's choice of colour is limited to black and blue-black (after Wu Xie persuades and gives his best puppy eyes, only then Zhang Qiling gives in to the blue-black jacket).

Wu Xie's eyes narrowed as his hands placed the clothes into the closet. Another season has passed so it is reasonable to go shopping.

Zhang Qiling brushes the damp fringe off his forehead. Carefully he sheathed his sword before glancing around to spot a certain messy dark brown hair. Instead, his eyes fall on a well dressed Wu Xie, in a white sweater along with jeans. The male smiles brighter than sunshine. The choice of the outfit is questionable as the store is closed for the day and Wu Xie will not wake up until Zhang Qiling wakes him up.

Ignoring the sweat, Wu Xie wraps his arms around Zhang Qiling's waist.

'Morning, Xiaoge.'

'Morning. Where are you going?'

'Not me. We!'

Zhang Qiling shouldn't have fallen for the beautiful smile.

Since they're taking the car, Wu Xie takes the role of driver although his heart is telling him to ride the black motorbike owned by Zhang Qiling. He likes when the wind blow as Zhang Qiling accelerates through the traffic and also it gives him chance to touch-

They will be back with a few shopping bags, hopefully, so taking the car seems practical.

Wu Xie hums to the tune from the radio. A song that recently surface, thanks Tiktok.

'I can be blue, I can be purple~ Hmm hmm.'

Zhang Qiling glances at his lover. Wu Xie's accent is sexy. He wonders if-

He clears his throat, throwing his gaze out of the window quickly.

'Right. You must be hungry, Xiaoge. Let's eat first before shopping!'

Wu Xie seems enthusiastic about this shopping. Zhang Qiling doesn't understand why but anything for Wu Xie.

Once Wu Xie parks the car, Zhang Qiling turns to look at the younger male. Wu Xie blinks, blushing under the dark eyes. Why Xiaoge is staring at him?

'Xiaoge?'

Zhang Qiling gently wraps his hand around Wu Xie's nape while his thumb rubs on the curve of his neck. Wu Xie gulps visibly, cheeks are heating up although the air conditioner is still on. Zhang Qiling moves closer before placing a kiss on the pouty lips. Wu Xie chuckles before returning the kiss in delight.

Maybe Wu Xie shouldn't have believed it'll be only one kiss.

'Xiaoge.'

Zhang Qiling hums as he takes a bite of the noodles. They settle in a restaurant after Wu Xie's tummy grumbles, begging for food. Zhang Qiling reminds himself to fix Wu Xie's habit of skipping breakfast.

'I'm meeting Ershu next week. He said something about Wushanju. I don't want to listen to his nagging. You better come with me. He's scared to say anything bad if you're with me. What do you think, Xiaoge? Please?? Pleaseeeee.'

Zhang Qiling is not the type to socialise but he knows Wu Erbai can be too hard on Wu Xie sometimes. The last time they met, the man rambles about finding a wife for Wu Xie. The audacity. His glare finally shut him up. Perhaps, he forgets Wu Xie already has Zhang Qiling. What more to worry about?

Heir? They will figure that out.

'Okay.'

Wu Xie huffs at the short answer but smiles afterwards. His Ershu won't nag him for sure.

Wu Xie steps into a clothing store with his hand clasped around Zhang Qiling's. One might not believe but Zhang Qiling is the one who grabs Wu Xie's hand first.

Zhang Qiling doesn't understand the fuss about buying new clothes. He's content with the one he has, as long as it is not torn but he discreetly likes it when Wu Xie dressed him up. Like today, he's wearing a matching sweater with the younger one except it's black.

'Xiaoge.' Wu Xie turns to face his lover and then grabs his hands. Zhang Qiling tilts his head, waiting for Wu Xie to continue his word. 'I know you like black, obviously and you have tried blue-black. So... what do you think about navy blue or... royal blue?'

First of all, Zhang Qiling also doesn't understand the colour palette. If it's blue, then it's blue. Why there's baby blue, royal blue, blue-black and others? The colours are more complicated than the traps in the tomb.

Wu Xie pouts when Zhang Qiling's forehead wrinkled into a frown. Guess that's a no. Wu Xie tried but he doesn't expect a yes anyway.

'Okay.'

'Huh? Huh!' Wu Xie blooms into another smile before dragging Zhang Qiling across the store to try on any design that catches his eyes.

The couple ends up with more than three shopping bags. Wu Xie thinks it's a good idea to buy pants, shoes and jackets for them. Zhang Qiling manages to stop Wu Xie from entering another store.

Wu Xie is beyond satisfied with his haul. He heaves a sigh of relief after putting the clothes in their respective drawer. He stretches his arms and groans, tired from walking around. Is he getting old? Wu Xie shakes his head.

Wu Xie's attention shifts to the door as it's closed. Zhang Qiling walks to his lover and places a kiss on his temple. Wu Xie radiates happiness as he likes it. He will never get tired of Wu Xie's smiles.

'Wu Xie.'

'Yes?' Wu Xie wraps his arms around Zhang Qiling's slim waist, staring into the dark eyes.

'Do you know which colour suits you the best?'

'Huh? I don't know. What is it?'

'Nude.'
