I despise staying the same,
From my head to my feet,
I always need to change,
From the length of my hair to the colour of my toes,
Something always comes and something always goes,
I'm always changing everything,
Be it friends or foes, my posture, my nose,
It can't be stopped, it's always happening,
I abhor that most days have no variation,
The stagnation of each day is an unpleasant sensation,
I suppose that's why I like writing prose,
The sharp smell of ink brings me to elation,
To be a writer is to write what no one else knows,
The texture of paper heavy with ink,
Knowing you can create and destroy with a blink,
The crinkle of pages as they're being turned,
And the slam of a book, both need to be earned,
To imagine a world just within sight,
To see it on screen and smile with delight,
When you know other writers also have it right,
To read works aloud is not a plight,
But a chance to give to others a chance to see the light,
The rich words rolling of the tongue,
Like creamy chocolate or succulent pears,
But don't be snared by the constant cover,
By the time you've read something,
It'sprobably beenchanged more thantentimes over.
