There she was.

The same girl he had met the day before.

For a moment, everything else faded—the noise, the chaos, the beating, even the shattered glass on the pavement. His sharp eyes softened as he watched her, mesmerized.

Flashback

Y/n pov
I climbed into the car and took a seat when Reena suddenly turned toward me. "Why did you get out of the car?" she asked. I explained, "Reena, there was a kid who had been severely injured, and I was about to help him—but someone beat me to it." I sighed, wondering what I should do next. My mind raced: I still had to meet Rocky, and now I had to figure out how to introduce Reena to him. "I’ll think about that later," I decided, "because right now I just need to rest. My brain’s been overloaded with information today."

"Y/n, we’re leaving for Bangalore in half an hour with your dad. Go pack your things—I’ll be waiting for you and Dad in the car," Reena called out. I nodded, the reality settling in that Rocky would soon meet Reena, and Dad (Andrews) was coming along too. It was now confirmed: Rocky would be joining us in Bangalore tomorrow.

After I finished packing, Dad called me downstairs. I zipped up my bag, and together we headed down. Dad carefully placed my bag in the back of the car before we set off.

Soon, we were seated on the plane, waiting for takeoff. Unable to contain my curiosity, I asked, "Dad, why are you coming with me and Reena to Bangalore?" He looked a bit uneasy before replying, "How can I leave my two princesses to travel alone? Besides, I wanted to meet Reena’s dad." I couldn’t help but think, smart move, especially since Garuda’s dad had also chosen you to handle the West Coast.

Upon arriving at Reena’s home, Reena and I went upstairs while Dad went off to meet her father. As we chatted about various things, there was a knock on the door. "Come in," Reena called out. In walked Kamal, wearing an odd, almost unsettling smile. For some reason, I immediately wished I could wipe that smile from his face. "Kamal, what are you doing here?" I asked.

He replied casually, "Can’t I spend some time with my fiancée and my sister?" Reena snapped, "No, you can’t." Kamal’s feigned pout only deepened my irritation, and I felt a surge of revulsion. "Kamal, did you prepare my bar for the party?" Reena demanded. "I already did," he said. "Oh really? Then get out of my room—I have lots of work to do with Y/n," Reena ordered, shoving Kamal out of the way. And so, the day unfolded with a mix of tension and routine.

We made our way downstairs and found Dad and Uncle Rajendra waiting.

"Reena, I don’t think the party can go on today," Dad said gravely. "What happened?" Reena inquired, concerned. Dad explained, "There are elections going on today, and the government has strictly closed all the bars." Reena protested, "But I’ve already invited all my friends!"
