["Hindi pa rin kayo nagbabago. Haist!"]"Sige na, Adrian. Ikaw nalang magsabi. I have a lot of things to do here."
["Hah, ako ba wala?"]
"Dali na kasi, please..."
["Anak ng butiki naman Mira, oh! Bakit ako pa? Haist! Sige na nga, ako na bahala magsabi sa kaniya."]
I smiled.
"Thanks, Adrian. You're still the best."
["Sus, bola pa. Sige na, may customer pa ako dito."]
"Okay, thanks ulit. See you at the event." I end up the call.
I gently caress my temple and blows an air breath. It's already five pm but I'm still here in my office. Busy preparing for the next day's event. A Christmas outreach program for the little kiddos.
This event is just a simple get-together with some kids and their parents here in our place. I want everybody to spend their holidays with their loved ones and give a break to our incredible parents who are always working for the sake of their family. That despite of the busy days they have been facing off, there are still reasons to smile. They still dare to keep moving because at the end of the day, they still have a warm embrace from their family.
The thing I'd long before.
But it never happened.
"Ma'am, uuwi na kami. Ikaw ba?"
I instantly get back to my senses when I heard a voice in front of me.
"Oh, ah... uuwi na rin ako, Christ. Gusto niyong sumabay sa akin?" I tried to offer.
"Oh come on Christ, as I always said... you don't need to be shy on me." I smiled genuinely.
"Look at me," I sound demanding.
"H-hah?"
"I said look at me. Do I look like a different species to you?"
His brows furrowed.
"H-hindi."
"Do you ever do something wrong towards me?"
"Wala rin,"
"Then why are you acting like that? I'm also human like you so cut the crap out, Christ." I smiled.
"P-pero kasi mas mataas ang posisyon mo sa amin dito sa barangay natin kaya hindi ko maiwasa-"
"So what? Ano naman ngayon kung mas mataas ang posisyon ko sa inyo? As far as I can, I want everyone who's working here would be my friend. Para alam mo yon, smooth lang ang relationship ng lahat."
"Ah, okay."
"Good. Now, tell your sister to wait for me outside."
"Sige, Ma'am." He nodded.
He was about to turn his back on me when I stop him.
"Nah, one more thing pa pala..."
"Ano 'yon?"
"Stop calling me, Ma'am. Pwede na sa'kin yong Mira. Masyadong formal yung Ma'am e, same age lang naman tayo."
He smiled.
