Chapter 1 - Dao Nuea (Part 2)

[Daonuea’s POV]

              “Aw Come on.”

              “Ai Nay. I have to go.” I trudge behind him. Me and Nay (actually his name is Nonee, but I like to call him Nay because it would not make me seem like a moron) are heading to the Moon and Stars dormitory. I’ve heard from my seniors that it’s very comfortable, even though it’s a shared room. I don’t have a problem with sharing a room with other people but…

              “Have you met yet?”

              “Uhm well… yeah.”

              “You look unkept for wiping your eyes dryvwith tissues."

              “I saw the picture.” I looked at the sky as my legs kept walking. The sky in Thailand and Germany are different. The sky there is three shades darker, but the clouds weren’t many and the stars aren’t as beautiful as here.

              “Try to survive out there. Call if you feel like crying.”

              “Men don’t cry.”

              “Oh ho, then I will not answer the phone 2-3 times.”

              “Nay, look into my eyes. I’ll be fine.” I hugged him, my best friend in life. Even when I moved to Germany in 11th grade and then back to Thailand, we were still close. We talked the whole time. He patted my head and told me to take care of yourself and not make anyone worry.

              “Remember to eat on time. After taking a bath, you must dry your hair before you sleep or else the pillow will be moldy. Other people will not be friends with you if it’s dirty, understand?”

              “Yes.” I replied with an annoyed and provocative tone that Pokpong had taught me. Pokpong is another friend of mine, his face is very weak. Today, he has to go shopping for the faculty. He’s a bit of a naughty kid who teaches me fun things, and of course, it’s all very boring.

              “What are you implying? Come on, let’s fight.”

              “Fight what?”

              “It’s your whole world”, He made a bored face before waving goodbye to me and handing me my luggage. I sighed, jumped and hugged Nay again, like sticking my legs around his waist like a monkey. If you have a lover later, what can you do?

              “See you later, Nuea. You are the face of the faculty so do well.”

              “Love you, Nay.”

              “Acting like you’re going to die. I can go down and zip up my pants, everyone is looking at me.” Nay brushed me off like a slug. I said goodbye so many times that he irritably raised his middle finger in my face.

              I let out a long sigh. I have to give it a try. P’Fah would be very proud to know that I am the Moon candidate of my Faculty. I pulled my luggage away. The sound of the wheels colliding with something made me very uncomfortable.

              “Do you need help?” Someone said behind my back. I turned to look at that person, rummaging through my mind to recall what this person’s name was. Uhmm…

              “No need. I can carry it on my own. Thank you, John.”
