Shawn 'Angel' Carter
"This girl was bad as hell man. Like I can't make this shit up," I expressed as I sat in the white room with Wings, Tim, and Angelo. We were finalizing things for this pool party that we hosted every year for the hood. It was more of a block party to celebrate summer break for the kids, but we happened to have a place in the area with a nice ass pool.
"Well shit I say go for it cous. Never pass up a bad bitch," Angelo said dapping me up.
"Be careful though, never know what that Girl could be up to Ang'," I nodded agreeing with him also. After a little more planning we left the room. I checked my phone seeing I had a text from ol' girl.Giselle: Hey stranger, grab lunch with me?
Me: my bad lady I been busy with work. But for sure, how Chipotle sound?
Giselle: perfect, we can do the one off Evergreen.
I was smiling a little too hard, I shook it off and grabbed my things before heading out to meet her. During my drive I got a call from my number one girl.
"Hello?" I answered as her sweet voice boomed through the Bluetooth in my car.
"Shawn! I miss you," I smiled at her hyperness.
"Hey pretty girl, I miss you more. I'm gonna come pick you up later on so tell mama to pack you a bag," she cheered and called out for our mom to tell her the news. Soon enough my mom's voice could be heard.
"Shawn?"
"Hey mama, how you doin'?" I asked as I got into the turning lane to enter the plaza where chipotle was.
"I'm doing well baby, your picking her up today?"
"Yes ma'am. I'll have her on time for school too. I promise," I threw in knowing last time I let her sucker me into allowing her to skip school.
"Aright Shawn. How long are you keeping her?"
"Imma keep her until Saturday after noon. You know we having the block party Friday for the kids," I said as I parked my car.
"Alright baby, we'll I'll see you later on,"
"Alright bye mama," I hung up and was about to text Giselle, until I saw her about to walk into the restaurant.
I got out and locked my doors before going to grab the door for her.
"Tha- oh hey you," she said smiling from ear to ear. I gave her a cheesy smile back.
"Hey lady, how's your day been," I asked as we walked up to the line.
"Honestly super shitty. But how about you?" We talked a little more before it was our turn to order. I of course paid for our food and we decided to eat outside.
"So, you wanna tell me about your day? It seems like you have a lot to get off your chest," she sighed after taking a sip of her drink.
"I found out one of my favorite students is currently in the psych ward. She tried to take her own life this morning and I feel like there was something I could have done to help her better and I didn't. I just feel like I failed as her teacher," she said and I could see her eyes begin to water. I reached over and grabbed her hand, caressing it gently.
"Hey, look at me. She's gonna be alright and so will you. Don't go blaming yourself baby. Just take it slow alright?" She nodded wiping her eyes and sighing.
"You got me crying in front of you and I don't even like crying," she said as she chuckled, playfully rolling her eyes.
"That just mean your comfortable around me and we gone keep it that way," she blushed and nodded as she ate some of her food. We talked a little more before her phone rang interrupting us.
"Hello? Hey mom,"
"Yeah I'm at lunch with a friend...okay love you too, bye," she said hanging up.
"My bad she calls literally everyday to talk," she giggled i smiled at her laugh. It was so contagious.
"I feel it. My moms call everyday too, she really just misses me being in the house," she nodded in agreement.
"Definitely, I moved out at 18 and all of a sudden that lady want to be my friend. Even when her favorite line used to be,"she was getting ready to quote her mom and I already knew what was coming, "I'm not one of your little friends." I said with her making us both laugh.
"Yes! Black parents love that lil one liner like damn," she said making me laugh. Her smile and laugh were so contagious I couldn't help it.Beyoncé pov
This Nigga was so damn gullible. Rih had just told me that he had not one but two people watching us right now, so I made sure to give my best show.
"So whatcha got up for this week love?" I asked as I leaned forward on my hands.
"Uh finishing up some business stuff. Aye, we're having a lil summer pool party for the neighborhood and what not, you should join us?" I smiled, I was gonna be at that party whether he invited me or not. I may be a heartless bitch, but I love the kids. Hence my Legal job being an educator.
"Awe I would love to. I haven't been swimming in I don't know how long," I said as I sipped my drink.
"Well that's perfect than, I gotta make sure you have fun," he spoke smoothly.
"Well I don't think that'll be hard. I really enjoy myself when I'm around you. You seem like a genuinely good person," he nodded smiling.
"I feel the same way. I definitely don't regret hitting Uptown that night," he said as I laughed a bit, because very soon he would definitely be recanting that sentence.
"Same. Even though you threatened me without warning," i said jokingly furrowing my eyebrows.
"That's my bad love. You never know though, always gotta watch your back when your in the position I'm in,"
"Oh right I forgot your in a little gang or whatever. What are you, blood or crip?" I asked making myself sound so damn ditzy.
"Neither. For future reference, you rolling with Angel Inc.," he said and I nodded.
"Do y'all have like merch or something? That would make for a great dad hat," I said giggling. He laughed and shook his head.
"Nah gangs don't do merch love. This not like a boy band, it's real deal," I nodded before checking my Apple Watch. It was well past the time I wanted to spend around his ass.
"I got you. Well, I have to get going, I have some quizzes to grade and lesson plans to finish," which was true, and that work ain't gone do itself.
"I got you love, imma hit you one on about the party details," he said das we stood up, throwing out our trash.
"Alright, enjoy the rest of your day beautiful," he said hugging me I wrapped my arms around his waist smiling slightly.
"You too babe. Be careful, you hear me? I don't wanna have to go gangta on nobody Angel," I said. I really should have won an Oscar by now.
"I got you. I'mma be alright, you just worry about passing all them kids. You better give them A pluses too," he teased I laughed shaking my head.
"We'll see. I'm not that east though, you gotta work for your grade in my class," that was definitely a double entendre too. Shawn would have to work for this fake relationship.
"I feel it, we'll alright, I'll see you later Gis'," we finally pulled apart and went our separate directions. I pulled out and drive the way to my dummy apartment. I knew he would probably have one of the two guys tail me, and I always think four steps ahead. The white sedan was so obvious, he didn't even stay a little behind, he was on my ass the entire time. There was also probably a tracker on my car, so I decided to pull into the garage, to inspect my car. When I found no tracker. I walked onto the front porch and 'checked my mail' while also checking for my tail. I saw him pulling off down the street but to be safe I waited another 30 min before pulling out in my Hyundai Sonata instead of my keep, and went the opposite way. I'm about ten minutes, I was pulling up to my home.
"Z, I'm home baby!" I didn't get a response, but it made sense when I walked in to her sleep on the couch. I sighed, kissing her forehead and covering her up. Than I went up to my office to start grading and what not.Excuse all errors
