How can you tell what's real and what isn't? How do you know when something is really real? What is real? What is fake? Is something only real when you can touch, see, hear or taste it? Is something real because somebody said it was? What if real for you isn't real for somebody else? Have you ever seen something that you knew wasn't there.....but it was.....well for you it was, just no one else could see it. Does that make me crazy? Well what ever your answer might be that is my life so welcome to it.
Everything around me is fake, the only real is in my mind I'm guessing . It all started when I was about fourteen. I was in the car with my mom, dad and my little brother. It was the middle of winter. Temperature was about negative ten degrees if not colder. Snow was falling down into the trees, streets ,on top of more snow and fogging up the windows. I drew words and pictures and waited for the windows to fog back up just so I can start all over again.
My brother sat on the other side of the car by the window playing one of his many video games that he loved so much. My mom and dad were laughing and talking and singing along to any song that played on the radio. I wasn't really paying attention because I had my own music playing. I turned my volume all the way to block out any other sound but my thoughts around me. The song that was playing was "Afraid" by the Neighborhood, looking out the window a flash went through my mind.
The white snow has now become covered with splashes of red with broken glass every where and flashing red and blue lights with loud sirens. I looked up from my IPOD song still playing, when I wake up, let me be. "DAD"! I heard my brother yell as my dad jerked the wheel which sent the car into spins on the icy road making the car flip and then everything went black and the last thing I heard was "when I wake up, I'm afraid.
Everything was a blur. Opening your eyes you'll think it'll been a dream, more like a nightmare if you ask me. The snow was still falling, melting as every drop hit my face which was the reason I woken up. I couldn't move anything but I felt pain everywhere. I was extremely hot even though I was laying in a pile of snow. Looking around from where I lay I couldn't see my brother anywhere, my dad was still in the car, head on the wheel, arms by his side limp. My mom was laying on top of the hood of the car, I couldn't tell if she was hurt, dead or just knocked out.
I looked to my left and seen an ambulance rushing towards us. They stopped and paramedics jumped out running to help. AS one of the paramedics came near me. I tried to tell them to leave me alone and to go look for my brother first but it seems I couldn't say a word. No matter how hard I tried , moving my mouth and tried making sounds nothing would come out .I looked up at the paramedic , he looked at me with worried eyes and was talking through a speaker he had on his jacket but I couldn't hear a thing. My vision went blurry as before and the pitch black.
