6:00.
It was 6:00. The glowing green numbers of my analog clock stared me in the face as the tauntingly loud alarm blared in my ears. It was Saturday. Why was my clock waking me up at 6:00?
I slapped around my nightstand until I managed to hit the snooze button. I closed my eyes and began to sink back into sleep. Saturday. 6:00. Alarms. 6:00. Alarms. Saturday. Charlie. Alarms.
Charlie!
My eyes flashed open and I quickly shook myself out of my stupor as I got to my feet. I stumbled over the laundry-ridden floor to my light, hissing as the brightness flooded my room. I squinted until my eyes had adjusted to the light and rubbed them until the sleep wore off. I would finally see Charlie and TJ today. I just had to be at the Detroit Airport by 7:30.
I squirmed into my binder, struggling for a good 10 minutes before buttoning up my flannel, hoisting up my jeans, and tying a neat bow in each of my converse. My snarled hair was twisted into a tangled mess and shoved into a durable beanie without a second thought. I got in the car.
«You on your way?» My phone buzzed with a text from TJ.
«Just about to leave :) I'll see you soon lovely. Beat you there» was my quickly typed response
«You're on!»
TJ, Charlie, and I had been through a ton together. Our LGBT Instagram account had saved countless lives and racked up a whopping 10,000 followers. As celebration, we had decided to finally meat up. TJ and I only lived a few hours from each other, but Charlie was flying in from England. It would be the first real life interaction we would have.
An hour later, I found a place to park. As I got out of my car I was greeted with a tight hug trapping me against my car door.
"I won!" TJ said grinning as he hugged me. I giggled and hugged him back
"You live closer! That's not fair!"
"Yeah just shut up and hug me Syd. Damn you look handsome as shit."
I grinned and pulled away. "Thanks. But.. Charlie?"
"Charlie," he agreed nodding. I grabbed his hand and pulled him inside the airport.
