"I think you need to turn to the next right" i say and the GPS lady confirms.

James turns the alarm on and takes the turn before pulling over in front of a tall red and brown building.

"That must be it." He says, and i check the address again on my phone.

1989 Hoffman Avenue
Manhattan, NY

"Let's get inside"

"Probably no power yet in this apartment." I turn to James, after i tried switching the lights on, but not succeeding.

James laughs, exiting the room and back to where the living room is supposed to be.

The last weeks i focused on finding an apartment in New York, near my new job. After i found one on a good price James insisted to fly with me and help me out.

He said "I know about stuff like that, most people want to rob you on the price and not give you a good place" and that alone made me roll my eyes.

But here we are. In Manhattan, checking out the apartment.

It's a two bedroom apartment on the second floor, with kitchen, bathroom, living room and even a garden on the back.

Not all furnitures are included though for example the living room. It doesn't have couch or table, only a tv set.

But apparently, they forgot to mention this side of the building doesn't have electricity yet.

"So, what do you think of it?" The real estate agent asks and without hesitation i turn to James and back to the woman in her blue suit.

"I'll take it." I smile.

"Congratulations, welcome at your new home"  The woman says and hands me some papers to sign for the payment through my bank.

"The electricity though, what about it?"

"Oh, don't worry about it, we will connect it before you move in."

James looks at me the same moment i look at him.

I sign the papers, and the real estate agent hands me the keys before welcoming me again.

"Are you hungry?" James asks, already dialing a number on his phone.

"Pizza?"

"And probably candles too. It's getting dark outside." He says, already ordering my favorite pizza.

He still remembers.

"I'll search for candles, blankets and pillows." I whisper and he nods.

"Don't make me fight you. I won the last piece fair and square."

James shakes his head and moves my hair back from my shoulders as i try to eat the last piece of pizza.

"New York pizza is really something else"

James smiles and i feel his thumb on the side of my lip, cleaning something from it probably and i turn my gaze at him.

Our eyes locked.

"Come, on. I have an idea." James says getting up, and i finish my last piece of pizza.

James presses something on his phone and I recognize it immediately.

Until i found you by Stephen Sanchez.
