The quietness.
The somber expression on my face.
Staring at a blank wall; an even blanker expression, an even blanker mind.
Numbness spreads throughout my body, seeping through my skin like rain through a thin shirt.

The dim light. The frigid weather.

A warm, comforting hand tries to reach through the blank wall to grip my own.

Nothing can shake me from my current state of mind.

Happiness tries to penetrate my skin.
But I don't want it, won't accept it, refuse to give into it.
It bounces onto someone else instead.

I resume staring at the blank wall in front of me.
