Ayato comes to the kitchen, and to his hope, he finds Thoma there. He is chatting with the personal cook of the Estate. When Ayato tunes in to listen to the conversation, he finds out that Thoma is actually recommending to the cook how he can prepare meals to Ayato and Ayaka's liking.
Ayato finds this more adorable than egoistic or overconfident, To a stranger, it would seem that way. But if someone was as close to Thoma as Lord Kamisato himself, they'll know that he's just concerned.
"And.. M'lady must be given less spiciness, it is not good for her throat."
It seemed like the cook had great respect for Thoma, as he paid attention to every small detail he spoke. Most likely as No one ever complains after eating Thoma's cooking.
Before he thought about his actions clearly, Ayato let out a light chuckle, which startled Thoma more than it startled the chef.
"My lord! I.. Apologies, I didn't notice you." Thoma bowed down to which Ayato simply shook his head slightly and shook his hand quicker.
"No need to Apologize, Thoma. I was merely passing by and your caring words just put me in a pleasant mood."
Ayato saw Thoma gulp down something he was about to say, remaining silent. Ayato didn't quite like it when Thoma didn't properly express himself, though, he decided to keep a smile on his face through that. It seems Thoma noticed how Ayato's smile went from a genuine one to a 'polite one' he gives to the people he negotiates with after being fed up.
Thoma felt uncomfortable, he didn't like that smile being directed at him.
"I am sorry once more my lord, I should've been grateful for my lea-"
"No! No, my lord, it was I who asked Mr. Thoma for help. It is not his fault."
The chef who was silent the entire time spoke, afraid to be the cause of Thoma's punishment.
Luckily, and well, as usual, Ayato saw right through both of them. Smiling internally as he spoke while walking away
"Good day you both, I shall take my leave as I have work left to do." Though he was leaving, he saw Thoma bow down
"Good Evening my lord, I shall call you for dinner later."

There was a knock at Ayato's door, pulling his head up from his paperwork, Ayato smiled, the mere thought of Thoma made him feel that way.
"You may enter."
Ayato couldn't wait to see Thoma! He missed him so m- wait. That wasn't Thoma.
"Good Evening, Brother."
"Ayaka? I thought you wouldn't be home for a little while now?"
"It's 8 pm brother. I told you I'd be home by dinner."
"Ah, right, that must've slipped through my mind."
"How was your day?" Ayaka said as she sat down next to Ayato, smiling as she put her hands on her knees.
"It was better than usual." Ayato replied with a grin
"Better? How did you bother Thoma this time?" Ayaka wasn't surprised one bit as she spoke.
"My, my, Dear sister, do you really think I can't have a good day without bothering Thoma?"
"Yes, I do think so. And, You're always over the moon every time you see him."
"Alright, that point makes it seem like I can't argue."
"I am your little sister, I know you better than anyone."
"Yes, yes, I am quite aware." Ayato slightly pouted and Ayaka only giggled in response.
"You sound so disappointed, are you not happy to see me?" Ayaka spoke in the middle of her giggles
"No, it's not that. You were just. not the person I was expecting."
"Not the person you were expecting? Oh, were you waiting for your Thoma?"
"Your?.." Ayato turned his head towards Ayaka and he immediately blushed a bit.
Ayaka giggled again, "You heard me."
"You have been spending a little too much time with Lumine.." Ayato mumbled as he turned his head back around, covering his mouth with his hand as his cheeks burnt a brighter shade of red.
"Perhaps I have. How could you tell?" Ayaka giggled again.
"You were never a teaser, I have, or well, still am. How has it been with Yoimiya?"
"Yoimiya? What are you trying to imply brother?"
"You know exactly what I am saying, dear sister." Ayato spoke as he lightly pinched Ayaka's cheek, smiling. It wasn't harmful in any way, but but but rather a form of teasing which made Ayaka turn red.
"It's not like that brother!" She covered her face with the hands that were before resting on her lap. Ayato only chuckled in response, when he heard a knock on the door. This was surely Thoma, it had to be, right?
"You may enter."
The door opened to reveal...
It was indeed Thoma! Ayato smiled on the outside when he saw red from the corner of his eye, he turned around immediately, it had been over an hour since he saw him, and was occupied with his paperwork.
"Good Evening My lord oh, and M'lady, what a surprise. I didn't expect you to be here."
"Greetings Thoma, did none of you seriously remember that I said I was coming home by dinner?"
"Sorry, M'lady.." Thoma scratched the back of his neck as Ayaka stood up and walked till she passed Thoma and stood near the door.
"Don't keep me waiting too long, Thoma and brother." She'd say, in a teasing voice as Ayato slightly blushed when she winked at him before leaving. This girl.. He knew what she was implying clearly.
He stood up, now facing Thoma.
"That.. What did m'lady mean, my lord?"
"Nothing, do not trouble yourself over her matters. She has been around Lumine for a bit too long that she has now developed her sense of sarcasm and teasing."
"Teasing? What was teasing about that? I am sorry My lord, I don't quite understand." Ayato saw an awkward smile on Thoma's face and only smiled back
"Say, what's for dinner, can it wait a while?"
"Hm? I am not sure, dinner might get cold in around, 15 minutes?"
"That's plenty of time."
"For what?"

Ayaka would sip her tea, an empty dirty plate in front of her, she'd look up from her tea, at Thoma and Ayato entering.
"Hm, I told you to not make me wait too long, brother."
"Apologies." Ayato had a slight smile on his face while Thoma looked extremely flustered, the tip of his ears red as they both sat down on separate places.
Ayaka shined a mischievous smile to Ayato
"I hope you had fun."
"I am definitely not letting you go out with Lumine anymore."
"Brother there, there is no har-"
"I.. I think we should eat dinner.." Thoma finally spoke through that thick shade of red on his face
Ayaka giggled as Ayato looked at Thoma with a smile
"That we shall."
