-Dipper-
"Mabel, that's a horrible idea!"
Dipper's disagreeing voice rang throughout the Mystery Shack. Of course, this isn't new, as Dipper had always been the one to think his sister's rash decisions through. This time wasn't any different. He thought about why exactly they shouldn't have a farewell party. Maybe Bill will come to take revenge on them, or Gideon might sabotage the party or something. Of course the probability of these happening is incredibly low. He was trying to come up with any reason, no matter how extraordinary, because he didn't want one at all.
"Why?" His sister raised the question he hoped not to hear.
Why didn't he want a party? Between the two siblings, Mabel had always been the more sociable one. While Mabel's making friends everywhere they go, Dipper's always tagging along, just being sweaty and awkward. He's always stressing about the mysteries of Gravity Falls, barely having fun at all.
'Maybe it's time to have fun,' he thought to himself.
"On second thought, a party sounds great,"
That summer, he spent it mainly on solving mysteries and going on adventures that may or may not kill them in the process. He had forgotten about enjoying the summer that they had to spend with their great uncle Stan. And now that he's solved the greatest mystery of all, he doesn't have anything left to do for the last few days they get to spend in Gravity Falls.
"Great! So party at six then. I'm gonna invite people," Mabel had sped out the door so quickly that Dipper hadn't the time to object to the time she set for the party.
'Crud. I have to hang out with Soos at six. Oh well, maybe he'll let it pass if he'll be the DJ for the party,'
Dipper decided to tell Soos and Wendy about the party. He headed to Soos' break room and found him asleep in that tiny space allotted for him by Stan. His arm occasionally jerked from the hot air coming from one of the pipes. Dipper gently shook him awake.
"Soos," he whispered, not wanting to startle the big guy.
"AH! Did you adopt me yet, Mr. Pines?" Despite Dipper's efforts to wake him gently, Soos jerked awake, revealing his inner desire for Stan to adopt him.
Upon seeing Dipper standing in front of his doorway, his face showed a state of confusion.
"Whatchadoin' here, Hambone?"
"I was going to ask you to be the DJ for me and Mabel's party tonight?"
"Oh sure, what time is it?"
"It's at six."
"Oh," Soos' face struggled to hide his disappointment.
"I know we were supposed to hang out later, but Mabel-"
"It's alright, Hambone,"
"Are you sure? I mean, I could ask Mabel to move the party to seven," Soos regained his usual happy mood.
"Nah, it's alright. I wanted to be DJ for some time now anyway,"
"Thanks man," Dipper waved and headed for the ladder behind the curtain that leads to the rooftop. Dipper was sure Wendy was there because it's her break. Then again, she was always there whether or not it's her break.
"Hey Wendy," Dipper said as he climbed out from the trapdoor. For once in the summer, Dipper didn't stutter while talking to Wendy. He finally got over her.
"Hey Dipper. What's up?"
"Just went to tell you about the party later at six."
"Wouldn't miss it."
