Rayhana's pov
To be honest, I love Nigeria, and this place makes it better.
My brother as you know it, is hungry and I pity him. Hope he finds food. I can't believe I actually miss him, I am lonely, I walked into the room, and as I entered the room was dark, I walked closer and I hit somebody.
" Ouch ! " We muttered at the same time, and the person switched on a torch light." Um, excuse me. What do you need ? " The lady asked, probably a maid.
" Nothing. " I said and she smiled before saying.
" Okay..... Why are you still here ? " She asked , after a minute of silence." Um, I was given this room... By my grandpa, and you, silly maid , ask me why I am still here. " I said and she laughed before saying.
" I am no maid, I was sent here by my grandpa to come here. Don't be so full of yourself, may be you have a high class as the maids, but don't come here and tell me rubbish."
The lady said, oh my God who is she ?" No, I am the granddaughter, let's go to Grandpa's place. " I suggested and she nodded as we left and we went out his room, I saw a man that looked so much like dad.
" Sorry, Grandpa tell this maid to stop behaving like some imposter, she is saying she is your grandchild." I said and grandpa smiled.
" Yes, she is my granddaughter. " He said and I understood, we are cousins.
" And this is your uncle " he added and I greeted the man and she greeted my father, they both replied but I noticed that when we entered they were not happy.***********
" We may be cousins but don't think of touching my stuff. " I said and she smiled.
" Same here. " She said and rested her head on her pillow, as she began typing away on her phone." If you sleep, don't switch off the lights. " She said and I replied.
" Oh, you are scared of the dark ? " I mocked, when even I too was afraid of the dark, I wanted to act brave." No, I am not. Just please switch off the lights. " She said ,annoyed.
" Hmm. What if I won't ? " I said trying to annoy her more, actually hoping that it will reach a stage where I pretend to help her by switching off the lights, because I am so scared right now .
" Okay Fine. " She said closing her eyes.
" Fine, I will help you. " I said and she stopped me.
" No, I need to ...err. rest anyways. Thanks for nothing. " She said and I realized I have lost. How can I sleep without the lights on.Maybe she didn't sleep, I heard some sleeping sounds, and she was asleep. Making it only me.
I waited till she was fast asleep, before getting up to switch on the lights.
" No, I will wait a little longer. " I said and waited and waited, that I slept and just then I heard creeking sounds, before waking up. I can't take it anymore, I am going to switch on those lights.
But my reputation , in front of that girl , ugh ! I have to leave here to the living room.I walked slowly, and left the room , with my pillow in my hands. I entered and saw many chairs, but chose a particular one, which seemed to be more comfortable. I laid down and I felt my body on someone's else's.
I screamed and the person as well. Just then, I noticed that it was her ! She was scared of the dark. The door of another room started opening and a lady came out smiling.
" I see you both are scared of the dark. " She said, and we both nodded shamefully.
" Why didn't you switch on the lights ? " She asked and we replied.
" Long story. "" Fine then, if your story is finished, go back to sleep. " She said and chuckled , before moving in .
" You know, it was your fault." She accused and I said.
" You would have just said you were scared. "
" No, I was sleeping peacefully with the lights on, when you sat on me. I just noticed, is like you're night blinded, because since the lights were on, how didn't you see me. " She said and I said.
" You covered yourself like a dead person. You know, let this matter just go. "" Fine. " She huffed and turned around, as she slept and then I slowly drifted to dream Land.
