"Now you're fading and I wonder who will erase me.."

6 months earlier

Ira kept playing all of her friend, Ayna's words over and over again. How could he have done something so lowly just to save Shama? Ira had kept aside all her happiness to satisfy them both while all this time they had kept this secret from her.

"What are you talking about? ", Ira enquired.

" It was Veer who had testified you were the one with the cheat papers in the final exams. He was the one who had falsely accused you, the one who said you were the one in front of the Principle. "

" But why? "

" Because Shama asked him too. She had taken papers of your notes and when they had slipped out infront of the examiner while coming out of the hall she said you had put it in her pocket and that she was certain it was your handwriting. Veer was called to the Principle and asked since he was the Class Representative and he lied that he had seen you copying answers from a piece of paper. "

Everything after that was a blur. Oh how foolish it was of her to get swayed by his lovely words, and to think he had started falling in love with her this time! He was the one responsible for her misery. He had practically ruined her life because of his feelings for Shama. She had taken the most important decision of her in haste because it was in favour of a promise made to Shama and she was the one who had thrown her under the bus she had gotten the first chance. The two people she cherished most in life turned out be frauds, charlatans with pleasing smiles and comforting words. She felt pathetic, she was cursing herself for loving the person that had done the most damage in her life. One testimony of whose ruined her chances to fulfill her dreams, one statement that had forced his father to let go of his final financial assets, one sentence that had driven the biggest wedge between her and her family. All because of him, his stupid lie.

Ira stormed up to their room, Veer looked at her with gloomy yet angry eyes. He slowly marched up to her.

"Why didn't you tell me? ", Veer asked.

" Tell you what? "

" That Shama was back in town. "

" I-"

" Why didn't you tell me she was back? How foolish was I to assume you would have changed from your jealous insecure self. ", Veer spewed the venomous words.

" Maybe I am. ",  Ira's eyes were filled up to the brim with tears. After what she had heard from her friend, she couldn't bring herself to face Veer anymore.

" Well then it's better if you leave. ", Veer spoke with a broken heart. He wished for Ira to say something, anything but she only looked at him with tear filled eyes and left. Ira wished to disappear, to never see his beautiful deceiving face again.

Present Day

Ira was done with her weekly shopping of household items. She walked to the underground parking area, and headed for her scooter while remembering if she had gotten all of the things she had wanted. Just then she clashed with someone.

" Oh I'm very sorry, Sir. I just didn't see. ", Ira started picking up the spilt items when a voice called her name.

" Ira. ", she looked up. It was Veer. He bent down and started picking her things up. Ira quickly gathered her and got up and she started pacing up to her scooter.

" Hey wait up. I need to talk Ira, please. ", Ira halted.

" What is it? "
