(Authors note: enjoy lads and here we shall see the new plants in action, new in a metaphorical sense.)

Third person Pov: location: the emerald forest:

the camera panned to show our heroes trekking through the forest in search of the ruins that Ozpin said housed relics to bring back, crazy Dave was keeping a look out as his neighbor read about the new plants he had created, Dave then asked, "where do you reckon these relic twiddydinkys are?" He asked as owner looked up and said, "well Ozpin said they would be located at wherever these ruins are, unfortunately we have only seen trees, trees, and more trees with the odd Grimm here and there" he answered, just then Dave had an idea "I have an idea neighbor!" before pulling out some rotabaga seed packets, he planted said seeds in the ground and soon with a bit of sun the flying roots popped out the ground with chirps and whoops, "little buddy's we need some help, where searching for some ruins around here and haven't found anything" the flying plants nodded before flying off in search of the ruins Dave mentioned, the Gardner looked at crazy Dave and said "Dave are you sure they gonna know what ruins look like?" Dave didn't say anything and just shrugged with a smile as the Gardner face palmed,  they eventually came across a river and proceeded to rest while keeping an eye out for the rotabagas to return, however as the owner began to slouch a little he saw a pair of red eyes staring at him from across the river bank as more began to appear "ah grass here we go again" before sending his own glare at the red eyes as he got up.

THE GRIMM ARE COMING!

The Gardner got to planting and soon a column of sunflowers was soiled, in return the Grimm began their attack.

while planting some kernel-pults he noticed how the Ursa's we're moving across the river just fine however the Beowulf's seemed to be fighting the rivers currents, pulling out the seed packets needed for tangle kelp, he proceeded with planting them in the river as they then waited for the Grimm with their own red eyes meeting the Grimms charging across the river undeterred by the corn and butter thrown at them, one of the Ursa's got close to a tangle kelp as it then glared at the large Grimm before it then vanished under the water, the bear-like Grimm confused, looked around wearily before suddenly large strands of Kelp wrapped around its entire body, the Grimm in question panicked briefly before it was dragged under to a watery grave, while Grimm are able to disobey most laws of nature, the need for oxygen was one that a majority of Grimm could not deny.

to help the kernel-pults, the Gardner began planting some homing thistles who targeted any Grimm that got to close to their planter, he then decided to plant one of his new plants called a dogwood, a series of roots burst out the ground and then a small stump emerged with some pink leaves on its head and branch's sticking out that acted like ears, the small stump barked happily at the Gardner as it licked there hand before then growling at the approaching Grimm, it began barking at the Grimm and unlike it's welcoming bark to the Gardner these ones where shockingly loud as the Grimm growled in pain with the monsters clutching their ears, slowed by the sound with some Beowulf's even fleeing the battlefield as a strange fear struck their dark hearts.

while the book said Grimm where largely fearless as they themselves where fear incarnate, somehow, someway, crazy Dave created dogwood, whose barks somehow terrified Beowulf's, but only Beowulf's, any other Grimm was stunned/slowed by the barks, after planting another dogwood he turned to the sky when he heard a sound, it was the rotabagas who descended on the lawn firing there bulbs at the Grimm below them as one of them flew to crazy Dave who was tending to the sunflowers, the flying root talked to Dave in a series of chirps and Dave understood it perfectly....somehow.

the Gardner never really understood the plants when they talked as Dave seemed to, the only plants he seen talk in English was the sunflowers, such as the time one of them sung a song called "there's a zombie on your lawn"  after he bested Zomboss for the first time and thus ended up fighting the endless horde though time and space, the other instance was the almanac where Dave translated what the plants said when he wrote their little bios, his friend then called out to him "hey neighbor, they found the ruins!" He called out as the Gardner nodded, he turned back to the battlefield and saw one of the dogwoods shaking before it grew in size and now had a mouth with some barbed "teeth", it growled at an ursa that reached it before biting at it, tearing chunks of meat and fur out of the bear-like Grimm, said Grimm growled in pain before it retaliated, wood and pink leaves fell off but dogwoods where tough plants and it kept biting the Grimm before it finally got a hold on the Ursa's neck and bit it off with a single chomp, eventually the Grimm were defeated to the sound of cheering plants.
