I sit in the cafeteria watching people walk by with my eyes drooping from exhaustion. Stupid Jeff keeping me up all night with your stupid games and stupid face.
"Hey Andy are you okay? You seem different today." Oh great now Elliot from art is looking at me concerned because he is what they call an empath, and senses something is up.
"What? Oh yeah I just didn't get enough sleep last night. It's all good."
"Hmm okay...just remember that if you ever do need anything you can tell me. I'm always here to talk to." He looked into my eyes to show he was trustworthy.
I know he is reliable and a good person to talk about things with, but how would he react? I contemplated whether I should just leave it at that or tell him about the whole Jeff the Killer in my house situation. I decided I needed to confide in someone.
I glanced to the side, breaking eye contact. "Elliot, have you heard about the murders going on around town?" I asked, glancing back at him.
He brushed the hair out of his face. "Andy if this is about your sister then-"
"No no no" I cut him off. "I mean yes, actually, partially."
He tilted his head, confused. "Okay look, Elliot you can not tell anyone about this." Elliot nodded, silently, promising secrecy.
"I think I know who's the cause of all of this. Like, on a personal level"
----
"Wait so you mean to tell me that the guy who you think MURDERED your sister is the same guy you had a "sandwich making competition" with?"
I could tell Elliot wasn't understanding completely. "Yes, that is exactly what I'm saying."
"Okay, well I'm not gonna completely discard what you're saying, but this really just sounds like another one of your conspiracies...I mean the police description of the way this guy act's is nothing like you're describing."
"Well to be honest I don't understand why this guy is acting so "different" around me either, even if he was high half the time." I shrugged.
"You really think he would just give up on killing you, just because you argued with him and ordered him around? Are you sure it's not just some sick kind of cosplayer?"
Elliot questioned me because he was trying to find an excuse for me to not be friends with a serial killer, if you could even call it that. I narrowed my eyes at him, considering his point. And paused before I spoke back up.
"Uh, I honestly think he was just in shock by my reaction. I didn't cower in fear or beg for my life like people usually do. I don't really think I knew what was going on either..."
"I'm also gorgeous, I mean who could resist this face?" I added, boastingly.
Elliot sighed, "How about next time you see him take a picture and then I'll compare it to the description."
"Deal." I smiled.
"Whatchu' guys talking about?" Willow asked cheerily.
"Uhhh girls." I responded hastily as an excuse.
"Ooo okay okay" lol she bought it.

I got home and put down my bag. Dad was at work and Mom was at a support group for women who lost a child. I think the group is for women who have had miscarriages or children who died in early life, but she should be okay. Lucy always had the attitude of a child anyways.
I walked over to the fridge and got a glass of water for my headache. I should show more empathy towards the loss of my sister's life, but it's not like she would have cared if the roles were reversed.
I overheard her on the phone once with a friend talking about her "fag" of a brother and how "if he wanted to look like a girl so bad then he should just cut his dick off." I was heartbroken and disgusted to hear those words come out of her mouth. Especially when our relationship was just starting to get better. Lucy put me through hell and it's been a long, hard road out of that.
She didn't understand why I ignored her for the rest of that day. I just wanted to disappear.
----
I realized I had been chewing on ice for the past three minutes when I heard a thump coming from the window upstairs. Oh god not this again...I roll my eyes and set down my cup.
I march upstairs to go check out the commotion and see Jeff rushing out of my room.
"ANDY, ANDY HELP, HELP HIDE ME!" Jeff yelled, running towards me and grabbing onto my arms.
"WHAT!?" I questioned at a similar volume as Jeff, alarmed at the sudden urgency and change in mood.
