Yuki's POV
We were in the middle of our bedroom, but something was wrong with Kira. She was leaving us and she looked different now.
"You can't leave us like this! What about the kids?!" I shouted, grabbing Kira's wrist and turning her around to face me, but she immediately yanked her wrist out of my grip and glared at me. She looked different now. Her eyes were no longer a hazel color, but golden yellow, and her dark blue hair was now a dark teal, the same color her mother has.
"I have no idea who you are, but leave me alone. I'm not afraid to hurt you."
"Take a good look at my finger! See this ring? You have one too!" I said, pointing to Kira's ring, but she didn't respond nor look at her hand. She turned around and walked away instead.
"Hey! Don't walk away from me!" Beginning to walk up to her, I tried to get in front of her, but she punched me in the gut and continued walking past me.
I fell to the floor, then scrambled to stand up, only to notice she was already standing on the windowsill, crouched down, ready to leap.
I ran towards her, but she launched herself out the window. Trying to reach her wrist or just her hand, the tip of my fingers brushed against the back of her hand as she moved further and further from me before landing on the rooftop across from us. Then she ran to the opposite end of that one and jumped onto another roof.
There was nothing I could do but watch her jump from roof to roof and leave her old self behind, watching as she disappeared into the night.
With a start, I awoke from my dream and looked around. Noticing Kira wasn't on her side of the bed, I frowned, realizing what had happened while I was asleep. That dream had some truth to it after all.
I sighed, but looked at the clock on the nightstand next to me.
It was still early. I should get back to sleep.
********
I was still tired when I woke up, but not as much as I had been the first time I woke up.
After getting dressed, I walked out of the living room and made breakfast for my family. Once everyone had eaten, I sat down in the living room and turned on the TV.
I was compelled to turn to the news, and when I did, I saw what looked like a man breaking through the back of the bank. I paused the TV and walked closer to it, squinting my eyes at it. His hair still looked short, but some of it was poking through the sides of his mask. Did her hair get longer?
Are you kidding me!? That's Kira! I mistook my wife for a man!
Underneath Kira was a banner that read Local Himeko Nezumi is suspected to have robbed a bank this morning.
"Oh no....this is bad." I thought. I got up from the couch and reached for the phone in the dining room, taking it off its receiver as I punched in Kori's phone number. He answered after three rings.
"Yuki? What's up?"
"Watch the news on the TV."
Without a word, I heard the Kazumi's TV turn on in the background of the phone call. He spoke to me after a few more minutes.
"Was that Kira or Himeko?"
"Kira."
"Why did she do that?"
"There's something you should know. Kori, a few days ago, Kira got some serum into her close to a week ago that would turn her evil in a few days. After those days were over, she would turn evil, and eventually lose herself completely. What you saw on the TV was her first stage; she's lost herself, but not completely, and recently turned evil sometime last night."
