The rain rolled off your cheeks and made your uniform hug your body tighter than it usually did.
You were just running desperately trying to catch the last train of the night and by miracle you somehow made it. - " Mom would've killed me if I came home late again." You muttered meekly to yourself steadily keeping a tone you were sure that nobody would hear you from.
You grabbed onto your slightly wet F/c backpack strap before treading down the isle searching for somewhere to sit until you caught glimpse of a familiar raven haired boy, a boy that went by the name of .....
"Tanaka-san ??"
The boy turned his head swiftly to see who's familiar voice was calling him, and to his surprise it was the quiet girl from school who he never really paid attention to. - On the contrary you always noticed the boy, you noticed how good he smelled and how his hair would change somedays, but one thing you wish you didn't know about the boy was how he looked at your fellow classmate and childhood friend Futaba.
"Yes ??"
"I was wondering if I could sit next to you..."
"Sure."
He moved over slightly leaving you some room on the hard ran down burgundy leather seat and began to look back out the window like he previously was.
The two of you were left in a semi awkward silence until the bus suddenly stopped and the next thing you knew your school bag fell to the ground. You quickly stood up to collect your belongings off the dirty train floor. You reached to pick up your notebook before a bigger, warmer hand beat you to it accidentally placing his hand on yours doing so.
A wave of heat rushed to your cheeks and the tips of your ears while your heart began to pound like a drum. - Instead of pulling his hand back Tanaka kept helping the girl put her stuff away as if nothing ever happened before he came to a halt stunned that he saw a familiar novel that he enjoyed as well.
"You read that too ?" He said looking at her with a slight shimmer of interest in his eyes. The girl made note of that taking the chance to finally talk to him.
"Oh yeah it's one of my favorites !!"
Finally you had a topic to talk about. It felt like you guys were talking about the novel for centuries and even shared some laughs and playful arguments with each other. • • • • *Shhhh* The sound of the train stopping put a stop to your conversation as well.
"Well this is my stop, it was nice talking to you Tanaka-san see ya at school tomorrow !!" You gave him a soft quick smile and waved your final goodbye to him before heading home.
- Tanaka never really noticed how beautiful your smile was until that day, he never noticed how warm your smile made him feel.
