I'm adding this in its own new book, just for the sake of it. There will be hefty spoilers for Rift apart.

OUTER SPACE : OUTSIDE OF PLANET VELDIN
PRESENT TIME

Ratchet was beyond tired. He had spent all night sweetening his ride to make sure that he could defend the universe and cruise in style, but it also left him without any sleep. Ratchet grumbled to himself. "Probably should've brought Clank for this one..." he spaced off mid sentence as his eyelids started drooping down, slowly succumbing to his need for some good Z's, only to slap himself awake before he could. "Come on Ratchet! You literally saved multiple universes alongside your dimensional counterpart while taking on two versions of your biggest pain in the ass!" That was three years ago. His words reached no one but himself as stopped talking to avoid sounding crazy over the radio Incase he left it on by accident. Deciding he had nothing else to do, he thought of his life up until now. His time in the orphanage, to the time he had spent repairing the garage, to his first encounter with Clank. After that they fought Drek and the rest was history. From the protopets to they're first fight against nefarious. The only two things he had ever come to regret in his life was at one point when he couldn't save one of his own. Alister, a proud protean warrior of the high counsel and his godfather, capable of incredible feats during and out of combat. While Ratchet thought of this, a dark memory appeared from inside of his thoughts. He panicked and quickly tried to block it out. He was so distracted by this dark memory that he hadn't realised the large amounts of cracks appearing appearing in front of his ships path. As he refocused and lifted his head up... and then...

Darkness...he didn't feel much of anything else. Out of desperation, he tried to force his body awake, That's when he felt the heat. It was burning, he could feel his body was soaked. He tried to force his eyes open. No success. He attempted to move his arms, succeeding as his numb pieces of muscle and bone poked at his face. He wiped one of his hands across his face, and finally opened his eyes. He was sitting in a large crater, strapped to his chair as he tried to undo the restraints. After undoing said restraints, he looked around. He was inside of a charred piece of metal that once resembled his ship. He groaned in both pain from his head as well as a bubbling frustration as he moved his way out of the wreckage, grabbing his somehow undamaged omniwrench on the way out.

Upon leaving the crater he surveyed his surroundings, the only thing that he could tie his location to was that he was in a swampy environment. In fact, the swamp looked kinda familiar to be honest, almost like he had been somewhere like this before. He wondered across the natural pathway in the front of him as he continued to get his bearings. "Okay, I was thinking about the past when I tried to bury That memory and now my ship has crashed on a planet I haven't identified yet. Wait... was that a rift?" He thought back to the cracks he had barely seen when he had blacked out. As he was thinking, he hadn't noticed the fact that he had passed a large factory plant sitting on a foundation. When he heard a metal creak, he turned around and saw a large scale factory. Only there was something familiar about the plant itself. The building was in horrible condition. Rust was everywhere and the place had holes in it from top to bottom. He decided to look at the building a little longer when he had noticed a logo on the wall in front of him. Upon closer inspection, the logo resembled the mort logo he had seen on Sargasso, Rivet's home planet. In fact, he had seen this very building on Sargasso as well. A sense of dread built itself into the lombax as he continued tying more pieces together. How the planet was swampy, the similar plants, the mort logo. Ratchet had finally realised where he was. He was on sargasso, and everything was in ruins. That's when a very concerning thought struck his mind. Where is Rivet?

That's right, it's become a book of its own! And I've returned!
