Sapnap was ecstatic.
"Hey, I've got to go. We'll continue this conversation later, mkay?" He smiled at the green eyed child before running off towards the nine foot demon that was his papa.

"Hi my little munchkin, did you get all your work done?" The demon picked up the child as if he were 7 and not 13. "Yup, all of the scattered obsidian is back where it should be!" He replied, he looked around the perimeter, "Hey, where's-?"

"Punz is in the overworld again, said he needed to talk to someone about the conditions there."

Punz normally went to the overworld with his amazing "human enough" disguise. Despite the fact they had topaz scales on their face, it was only on his cheeks, like freckles. Meaning, you couldn't really see them unless you really wanted to.

"Probably with the frog kid." Sapnap murmured.

"Sapnap," Bad scolded. "You're right, today seems like a more shark boy kind of day." He shrugged. Punz wasn't discreet about who he liked around Sapnap. The rest of his family believed they were just friends of the overworld like Dream was to Sapnap.

Oh, were they wrong.

"Now, Punz doesn't tease you about who you talk to in the overworld; they're not the fondest of us." Bad said, placing down a basket of laundry,"Meaning, as long as Punz has found a safe place up there for him to explore and socialize, they're doing better than most nether gems."

"Speaking of the overworld, how's Dream?" Bad asked, walking inside their house. The house was basically just a really large expansion of a nether cave. Really large. With appliances dropped off by "the sheep lady" so that was cool. "Hm? Oh yeah he's good." Sapnap waved the question off quickly. He was really hoping his father didn't tread onto "what did you guys talk about" territory considering sometimes things like "oh yeah, he said he might bring me to the overworld even though I might be hate crimed  by some strong, strong believers up there and you'll possibly never see me again!" tend to spill out of him like an overflowing cup.

"That's good."

Sapnap released a small breath he didn't even know he was holding. "Oh!" Bad chimed, "I need you to go check on Sgeppy, he's pressurizing things and I wanna make sure he doesn't get hurt doing so." Ah yes. The person Sapnap had...mixed feelings for, to put it lightly.

He didn't exactly like the guy, but he certainly didn't love 'im. Nor did he hate him, really. The dude was engaged to Bad before Sapnap was adopted, so it's not like he was thrown into any picture or anything; it's just, Skeppy isn't exactly what people would call "fatherly material". He kinda just...hung around most of Sap's early childhood. From 3-8, be was more of a background character than an actual dad. Guess it was more Bad's thing.

However, there were certain moments. Like when he took the liberty of changing his diaper for the first time and accidentally poured half the bottle of baby powder on him. There was a smile, a genuine smile on the man's face when looking at him. Or when he taught him to pressurize material. It was fun. They had fun.

Now all there is is a frequent "hey kiddo" followed by a friendly hair ruffling, or a small "sup" whenever he just happened to be in the area.

Sapnap hated the fact he had a history with that man. He hated the memories. He wished he could just forget. Forget so he didn't have to feel so bad whenever he actually wanted to have a conversation. Forget so he didn't feel like an excuse to have alone time with Bad. Just- forget he's even involved in his life.

No.

No he didn't.

He really didn't.

He wanted to know more about the other.
