A light breeze was always nice.
Especially under the working conditions for the people of the overworld. More like over-worked. They don't do this under anyone's order, no, they do it for balance in the ecosystem. However, not everyone was participating in the whole "Save the environment" shtick

For example, gems of the nether are in charge of volcanic eruptions/activity, global warming, and controlling the geysers that left oh-so-many overworlders burnt. How were they doing? Well, volcanic activity is on poor supervision seeing as just this year there has been around 5-10 "sudden" eruptions. Not to mention the fact that few nether gems actually believe it exists let alone want to take care of it on account of "they can't feel it".

Luckily, the glacier and water gems have made themselves known to this argument. Stating that their polar ecosystem is melting and the water is beginning to evaporate. If this continues, they won't have a home nor suitable place to live. Sadly, that only picked up the pace by a little. You'd think they'd care more considering the blood of not one, but two tribes were on their hands but no.

Children don't have to worry about this right now, no, as long as they know that they're helping, they're satisfied.

...Well, most children.

"And what about nether gems? How do they operate?" Lime green eyes gleamed in anticipation.

There was always a couple of the few overworld children that just loved the feeling of knowledge. Take Dream for example. Smart kid with a notepad on him 25/8 always taking notes on something no matter what it was. Endearing and annoying as it was to the more elderly people of the overworld, his friends scattered all over the different biomes found it quite interesting how this kid was always interested in anything almost all of the time.

He was currently sitting under tree shade talking to a veteran friend of his Papa Puffy. Their name? He forgot. He did know he had questions and the other had work. They desperately tried getting out of the conversation. Don't get them wrong, most people loved an infamous Dream "interview" once in a while, but sometimes it just became too much. Not to mention distracting.

The other replied with caution, "Ah, well. I don't know much about them, but you can always ask your friend, uhh..."

"Pandas."

"Right, right. I'm sure he'd love to tell you about how he and his gem type work. Now run along, I'm very busy today myself."

And with that, the goat boy left to ask more questions. The veteran sighed to themself, "You've sure got a handful of a boy there, Puffy."

Now, of course people knew Dream was a smart kid, very intelligent. However, they did have one doubt about him. That being his friend he only disclosed to people as "Pandas". Most didn't even think he was real, probably because if the name. Others thought he was more of a pen pal, considering how hard it is to get to the nether without the proper tools. Once again, they underestimated this kid. A while back, he found a well, a teleportation well. How convenient.

It was in a local village, so it didn't look look like some random well in the middle of nowhere. Extremely convenient, eh? It wasn't a long walk, but it is kind of a struggle to get down a well without getting strange looks. So, when he arrived, he looked around a bit at the trades and the incoherent grunts. He waited until no one was looking his way before jumping the short stone barrier and down the well.

It's a weird feeling. Like you're getting flushed down a toilet. Then, if you stick your legs out at just the right time, you might make a perfect walk through into the nether and meet the face of your best friend grinning right back at you. "Dude!" The blaze hybrid laughed, embracing Dream in a hug. "Where were you yesterday?" He asked, the expression on his face made the overworlder slightly guilty. Only slightly; he had work to do.
