Bokuto Koutaro x Akaashi Keiji Angst

Akaashi has always loved Bokuto.

Since their high school years, he loved him and still do but he could never tell him how he feels. How could he? Bokuto Kotaro is the sun that shine bright while he is a sunflower that was only there to admire the light of the sun. And with that, Akaashi persistently hides his feelings wishing for it to fade away but his feelings wasn't the one that's fading.

"She said yes, 'kaashi!" Bokuto beamed at Akaashi, smiling like he got the lottery's grand prize, in which he seems like he did for Bokuto's girlfriend has agreed to become his fiancé.

He smiled, "Congratulations, Bokuto-san."

Akaashi smiled for that's the only thing that he could ever do at that very moment. He thanked every God that he know of that Bokuto and him are only talking via facetime.

"I cannot believe that she said yes! I was so afraid that she would say no that I was sweating the whole time but the moment that those three letter word escaped her mouth I nearly passed out because of happiness! Can you believe it? I am now engaged!" Bokuto rambled and even though he is on the other side of the phone and miles away from him, he can feel the gradiant happiness flowing from him.

Bokuto continues to ramble about the euphoric event that happened to him just a few hours ago and Akaashi listened to every word. He listened to him and not to his heart that's breaking at every single word that he hears. He can disregard everything if it's for Bokuto.

He already know that his girlfriend agreed to his proposal before Bokuto could even tell him for Akaashi was there when it happened. He was there when he was practicing secretly. He was there when she said yes. And he was there when they exchanged their love through a kiss. A kiss that he dreamt of that has now became a nightmare to him.

"-Akaashi! Hey, are you still listening?" he was brought back to reality when he heard him calling his name.

He blinked, "Yes? Yes of course, uhm where were we again?"

Bokuto whined and later on sighed, "Are you working yourself out again? I thought you're resting right now because you were given a day off?"

He looked away and rub the back of his neck while chuckling. He couldn't answer him because he's afraid that he'll be asked to rest. He couldn't rest even if he wanted to for Bokuto would always come to his mind whenever he's not doing anything.

The man on the other line let out a sigh again, "I really wish that you'll take better care of yourself, 'kaashi."

"I will so don't worry about me. You just got engaged so we shouldn't be talking about me."

"You're really a busy man, 'kaashi. However, please leave your next month's first week available! You will be my best man, okay?!"

Akaashi freezes. Him? Bokuto's best man? He badly wants to decline but the moment that he looked at his phone's screen was also the moment that his heart began to beat again. Bokuto was there anticipating his answer with his sunshine smile, the smile that he fell in love with and will fall for over and over again.

"Okay." Akaashi replied with faked enthusiasm hoping that Bokuto wouldn't notice the tone of his voice.

Timeskip

It was cold. Akaashi is freezing to death but he didn't bother to put on a jacket. He wants to feel something, for ever since he witnessed the proposal, he felt numb.
