[Everleigh]
My eyebrows darted up into my hairline as I struggled to keep my mouth shut from dropping open, was Mikayla actually being serious right now?
She couldn't actually be serious about me soliciting Charlie Wylder's help, the guy who may or not may be my unofficial boyfriend since we haven't exactly talked about the terms and labels of our relationship yet, just because I had reached a low point in my personal and professional life, right?
"Say that again, won't ya?"
I asked her and Mikayla shrugged nonchalantly, her sigh resonating throughout the tiny backstage room that could barely host the lockers and even tinier vanity sets along with the ridiculous costumes that the performers had to make quick changes into.
If I wasn't as smart as I was forced to be, I would've thought that these fellow co-workers of mine could've been quick change artists or magicians from how fast some of these girls moved to get into their own respective outfits.
Like seriously, I'm one of the younger-ish performers here and even I couldn't move that fast.
It was almost, dare I say, an art form in of itself how quickly some of these girls could slither into a full outfit without feeling like their tits were gonna pop out at any second or they weren't getting a wedgie from the thong that was riding up their ass cheeks.
"Look, kid, take it from me. If you really want something that desperately, you'll do just about anything to have it but you shouldn't have to fight with assholes like Jean Paul along the way. Just ask your sugar daddy if he'll mention your talents to some of his friends and I can poke and prod Ryan a bit to see if he'll take a bite out of a business idea."
Her words were so casually tossed around that I was almost taken aback for a moment, did my best friend since we were old enough to talk and walk just refer to Charlie as my sugar daddy now?
Honestly, it shouldn't even surprise me anymore by the amount of just pure shit that comes out of her mouth but I still couldn't get over the fact that she just called him that!
Or the fact that she seemed to be on good terms with Charlie's friend, Mr Ryan Lee, or else, she definitely wouldn't have brought his name up in that conversation we were having now.
Well, it's been more one-sided since Mikayla has a tendency to spew out a whole bunch of shit that leaves me speechless but then again, I tend to also burden her with all of my crap as well so it kinda evens the scales out a bit if you really think about it.
"Since when do you talk to Ryan? And Charlie really isn't my sugar daddy…"
I trailed off as Mikayla smirked knowingly as she crossed her arms, shifting her weight onto one foot as she silently watched me calmly take my messenger bag back out of the locker and slide my phone into my back pocket, my hands fluffing the gently styled blonde hair upon my head in one of the vanity mirrors as I tried to spiff up my less-than-average-looking appearance.
It wasn't that I wasn't exactly looking my best today, it was that I wanted to look better, to just be better, for Charlie.
We haven't seen each other in a bit since our last date and tomorrow, I was going to head over there for our next date which was, thankfully, already pre-scheduled into both of our calendars so neither of us would be late for the date.
Well, being late might prove to be a little bit difficult since the date was going to be at Charlie's house or rather, penthouse apartment that I still couldn't believe he actually lived in.
Even though the apartment probably cost more than my life was worth, Charlie didn't act like he was any better or higher up on the social scales then the rest of the population.
