Chapter 4: Will You?

Erza's POV
I woke up with a broken alarm clock on the floor. 'So that's what I stepped on last night.' I got out of bed not knowing what time it was to get breakfast. I took a glimpse at my phone and the clock read 10:32. "Oh crap I'm late for school." I screeched now knowing I had lost my voice and began couching. 'Then I should just call the school because I'm sick'

I went to my bathroom picked up the thermometer and took my temperature which read 102°. 'Ok. I'll just call in to the school.

I grabbed my phone and dialed the schools front desk manager.

"Good morning. This is Carla the front desk manager for Fairy Academy what do you need?" The front desk manager said with ease.

I coughed up "Hello.... This is Erza.. Scarlet.. I'm calling in... Because I'm sick with... A temperature...and will be...staying....home today."

"Okay young lady you will be marked down as absent for today hope you fell better. Good bye." She said.

"Thank you. Bye." I said.

Gray's POV
I walked into the classroom about 30 seconds before the late bell rang. Erza wasn't there. 'What the heck I was planning on asking her out on a mission today.'

"Hey Gray." I turned around and saw Natsu and Lucy talking.

"Hey have you guys seen Erza and today is the day I plan on asking her out." I said kinda worried.

"Well she usually walks with me to school from Fairy Hills but I didn't see her today so I just walked here with Wendy." Lucy said back.

"Then after school can you take me to Fairy Hills to check on her?" I asked

"Sure. Why not." Lucy answered.

"You get em ice stripper." Natsu said looking for a fight.

"Shut up flame brain you couldn't get a girl if you tried." I shot back. Both of us were standing up with fists out and then Wakaba-sensei walked in.

"Okay class take your seats." He said. All of us sat down. "Today we are learning about--- The I just dozed of all day thinking about what I'm going to ask Erza.

"Mr. Fullbuster. Why don't you come up to the board and solve this problem." The teacher said.

"Huh." I said. "Oh." Then I walked up to the board. I stared down the impossible question standing before me. 'How do I solve this.'

"Mr. Fullbuster we don't have all day now." He said very impatient. "Why doesn't Jellal come up and help you." He said.

'Oh great the other guy that likes Erza.' I thought. Then Jellal came up to the board took the piece of chalk from me and did the problem in two seconds like some math genius.

"Huh." I said.

"Thank you Jellal. You may both sit down now." Sensei said.

Besides that the whole not knowing how to do the impossible math problem the day was great. It went by really fast and it was time to meet up with Lucy. I was already at the gate waiting for her. I was pretty nervous because since she mood her she has become the most popular girl in school. The I turned around to see Lucy standing right behind me. "Ready to go?" She asked.

"Mmhmm." I mumbled with a smile.

The whole way while walking to Fairy Hills we talked about where Erza lives and how I was going to ask her out. After we finished our conversation we finally arrived at Fairy Hills.

Lucy brought me to the doorstep of her dorm and then I realized I was on my own from now on. I knocked on the door hoping she was home. She creaked the door open to see who it was. When she saw it was me she opened the door and welcome me in. "Hi Gray." She said with a squeaky voice. "Sorry I'm kinda sick that's why I stayed home from school today."

"Oh. Well I was wondering since I need to go on a job and you asked about them yesterday how about go on one with me?" I said with all the confidence left in me.
