"Welcome to the bureau!"

The sound I heard as I stepped on the building. It's Carter, one of the officer at the bureau.

"Welcome Detective Anderssen!" He said as I walk towards the entrance.

"Oh! Thank you for your greetings. It's nice to be back here since I was only 12.", I replied. My father used to bring me here in the station when I was just a lad. Yes I could say, we're opulent enough by that time. My father always tell stories about his working life, he's definitely a workaholic person. I remember how words slipped in his mouth as if I really wanted to be in his place. Unfortunately, I won't hear that voice. The song in my heart.

"Coffee, sir?"
Wait. That was a familiar voice. It could be...

"Sandra?! Is that you?" Sandra, my friend since middle school. The demure lass in the school.
"Only me."
I hugged her so tight.

"It seems almost 5 years we haven't saw each other!" I said with excitement.

"I didn't saw you for too long Zach." Since dad died, I never saw her. I went to Hondrelton to study about criminology, to prepare myself as the next sleuth of Smireville.

"And you're still, uhm, beautiful." I said compassionately.

"Really?"

"No hesitations. So, how about a little talk outside. You know, about these past years. "

"Sure, Zach."

The garden was the very peaceful place at the bureau. Birds chirping, sound of leaves rustling in the ground. Dad loves this place. He gets calm whenever he is here. So am I.

"So, Sandra, what'ya doing here?"

"Job, you know, coffee girl. And you, a successful detective here in town."

"After my dad."
I sighed because of still, longing.

"I am sorry for what happened to him, Zach. It's just, he left too early that everyone was shocked."
My dad died too fast, too young. He was shot dead. By an unknown suspect. And my main goal was to hunt him and to make him remorseful.

"Everyone missed him. But me, I really miss him. Thousand times as they." There's nothing like the love of a parent. At times I got irritated of hearing his thunder voice when he gets mad, but I learned that, it will make my longing even more worse.
I began to have teary eyes and stuffy nose.

"I really can't accept what they've done to him."

I said while staring at the horizon, as the morning breeze rushed through me. It's just too quick, like just one snap, and his gone. As if I was talking to him, and then, he left, all in just one freaking day.

"I'm sorry Sandra, it's just-"

"It's okay Zach. We're all the same."

And then a shouting voice was heard approaching us. It's Carter saying:

"Detective, your first task is ready." A very early job for me. Wish it would be great.

"You mean..." I replied.

"Exactly, sir!"

"Sandra we better get going, see'ya." I said while we rushed to the building and immediately gather things we needed. And we got to the car.
As the car get to the scene, I saw different faces of the Smireville. After father died, I used to live at Hondrelton, another state at Savanna region. Poverty and silence. Silence, literally. The state really express mystery and misery. Houses are really empty. Mysterious. So we lately arrived at the scene.

"We're here detective." The ambiance is disturbing. It's mysterious, silent, yet not peaceful.

"It seems too silent."

"We are at Geanna Street. People walk down here rarely. But there are people living nearby with those houses."

So we entered one of the houses, which is probably the crime scene because of police cars nearby.
When we got in, we saw a fat woman which would be the age is between 40-50 years, lying at the living area, full of blood with an icepick stabbed at her stomach. And as we walk through the latter part, we saw a man hung in his neck also full of blood which mostly came from his mouth. And a strange thing was hanging from his pocket. Was like a cloth or something.

"You're already here, new sleuth of Smireville." A cold voice came from my back.

"Oh, yeah, Zachary Anderssen."
It's an official from another state.

"I'm Xander Smith, officer from Raville." Raville is such a great place, center of tourism in Savanna with a great running government and a high level of education. It's a pleasure to meet an official from Raville.
" Are you the only son of Detective Francis?"

"Nope, actually we're two, elder brother that was, uhm, died of a disease ." My elder brother used to replace father in his position, but before father's death, he died of leukemia. That left me still.

"I apologize I opened that. It's really hard to be a detective, everything will be at risk."

"It's okay. So I have to go I have lot things to do." I decided to go since the atmosphere at the scene became worse.

"Sure."

One question? What would be another state's officer would be doing here? But, nevermind.

"Carter, come here, gather some people nearby. I think they know something." Thinking it would help.

"But what if there's no witnesses?"

"You said they go here rarely, but some lives nearby."

"Okay."

Journal: 02/16/15
The time is 10:08 am. According to my analyzations, the time of death of the two victims we're completely different. But they are probably killed at the same place. The man at the kitchen absolutely killed at the living area. With the tracks of blood I found, the man was pulled to the kitchen and hung him there. But what would be the killer's motive of killing this two innocent person? Who the hell is he?

" It's just too quick, like just one snap"
