Chapter 1-4: The Sigma Syndicate

I woke up early this morning, still wondering about the case. The suspect got to be very clever. It's planned. He almost turned the heat in our minds.
After having my coffee, I went to my home office which I often lock before I sleep, but it's not. So I opened the door and on my biggest shock, I saw my office was totally gone through a disaster! The papers and documents are scattered everywhere, the cabinets are widely opened! And I notice, the victims' files and documents are gone!
So I called the bureau and the police.
I am so nervous.

"Detective, what happened?"
The police chief asked.

"This is a mess! What happened detective?"
Carter asked.

"I assume this is a robbery. I woke up to this mess till I found out my documents disappeared"

"They probably went for your files detective"

"My case files went missing."

"What?!"
The chief was rendered shocked of what he just heard.

"Sir, those were the last documented files that the state hall could produce. I presume the state hall protects the documents of the deceased"

"I got a report from the hall, the files went missing."
The chief said.

"I knew it, they would do this."

"Who?"
I asked.

"The sigma syndicate. I always knew they were part of this."

"Who are they?"

"I also assume they killed your father."

"But why?"

"I don't know? Zach, the Bureau of investigations, and the state government has different agendas. We don't know where they will be. But I know where they hide, at Sunnyvale."

"Zach.."
It's.....

"Sandra, you shouldn't be here."

"Zach, I have something to tell you."

"Let's just talk later, okay."
So I walked away from her but..

"I killed Mrs. Earls..."

She shouted throughout the room.

"Sandra, stop this mess."

"But I tell truth."

"No, are you kidding me?"

"I am the sister of the leader of the gang you are hunting."

"What?!"

"Listen to me, I will tell everything."
So she spoke after almost five seconds of silence.

"My mother was the original leader of the gang Sigma. She is the mistress of our father. Fourth wife of my father."

"Fourth?"

"Yes, and they are married. Also he and his real wife are also married. He never knew about this. My mother is drug addicted and alcoholic. She is an alchemist turning metals into gold, even metals really can't. But your father busted one of her operations and send men eventually, to kill her. My father was very lonely and depressed when he knew what happened. He raised us up, alone, me and my brother. He never expected things to end up in horrible way. But he said, 'Your mother needs to pay all she did'. The saddest part came.
He need to be on his another wife. As expected, we have no choice but to live in our own. My mother's name is Laura Houston. My father's name was Leslie Earls."

Everyone was shocked of what she said.

"Are you the girl at this image?"

I handed her the photo. But tears fell in her eyes.

"Yes, Zach. I miss this photo."

"What does 'KDE' means?"

"That's my initials. My real name is Kelly Deniece Earls. But I changed it to hide my father and mother's identity. I killed his real wife because she killed my father. That noon my brother went to the house of our father. But all he saw was Mrs. Earls trimming grasses with a trimmer full of blood. So he asked her if we could see our father, but she replied, 'I already killed your father at my very own hands and a sharp grass trimmer. Never knew he married other woman.'. My brother got so scared and ran away with a heavy heart. I knew what happened so I snuck in at their house. She saw me and grab the trimmer and I saw in her eyes that she want to kill me. So I went to the kitchen and saw my father hanging, dead. So I screamed very loud. And because of my intense anger, I grabbed the icepick and stabbed her. I'm so sorry."

She cried very loud. Resounding all over the room. But a very loud voice said:

"Arrest that criminal!"
The chief said. But in defense...

"No! Let her be!"

"Detective, she's the criminal. She's the one you are finding for!"

"I said no! You said we are in different agendas, so stop meddling chief."

" Carter, we will leave tomorrow dawn to Sunnyvale with Sandra."

"Zach! I am so sorry."

"It's okay, j-just go home, you're safe."

The time is 12:06 pm. I can't believe, she knew everything. But it's not her fault at the first place. Good thing the truth finally came out. But also depressing that, she is, indeed the daughter of the person that caused my father's death.
