“Don’t pull the plug.” Mackenzie said sternly and drifted to sleep. While she was sleeping Ken called his mother. He told her that he would be staying at the hospital with Mackenzie. The next day Ken went to school, everyone came up to him and was asking about Mackenzie. He didn’t want nor explain what happened to Mackenzie. To him, it was obvious that she was beaten. Soon after he was in his first hour started, principal Dunham called him down to the office. When Ken arrived principal Dunham asked him to write a speech about bullying. The next day Ken broke the news to the school and read his speech. When he was done, he walked to the cafe where he first saw Mackenzie. He stood in front of the cafe. The memories flashed at him. He smiled when he saw the time that Mackenzie was sitting with her MacBook Pro perched on a table with a caramel latte next to it. He remembered that warm smile she had on her face that he saw when he walked in. The memory flashed away when he heard a car horn. He blinked, then walked in. He looked to the table from the flashback. Mackenzie was sitting there. He blinked again, not knowing if he was seeing things. Mackenzie got up and walked over to him. He smiled. “Mackenzie, your not in the hospital.”
“I don’t have to be” She said.
“What? That doesn’t make sense”
“The doctor said that it was a miracle that I recovered like I did. They let me go. I don’t have to be there anymore. Isn’t that great?” She explained with that warm smile on her face. Tears began to run down Kens cheeks. He was so happy. They walked to Mackenzie’s car. When they arrived at her house Ken noticed that the door was slightly open. When she opened it she noticed that there was an odd smell coming from Jim’s room. When the smell of the Weed got stronger, she opened Jim’s door. When she looked inside, she instantly fell to the floor. Ken heard the thump and ran to her. He looked inside the open door. He fell silent as he looked at Jim’s body hanging from the ceiling fan. Ken called 911 and moved Mackenzie to the living room. Once the medical people arrived, they removed the body and took care of the smells. Mackenzie was silent.
Three days later Mackenzie still wouldn’t speak. Ken waited for her to say something. At Jim’s funeral she finally spoke. Ken was pleased and they left. When they got back to Mackenzie’s house, there was nothing in it. Everything was gone. Mackenzie called 911. When the police arrived they asked who would do such a thing. Neither Ken or Mackenzie didn’t know. Sense Jordan is in jail it couldn’t have been her. Mackenzie thought. Ken noticed that there was a woman stuffing a box in a moving truck. The police ran over. The things in the truck belonged to Mackenzie. Ken walked over. The woman in handcuffs was his mother! Ken walked over to Mackenzie. “Baby, we are going to move. Far away from here. Somewhere new so we can have a fresh start.”
“Ken, lets go. Right now.” As they jumped into Mackenzie's car she said: “Lets go to California” and they headed off on their journey.
A year later they had a beautiful wedding with their closest friends. They had their wedding on the beach of Los Angelus, at sunset. Their reception on a patio of a restaurant overlooking the ocean. Two years after they got married, they had two children. They’re names were Zoey and Kaleb. They bought a big house and a dog, named Charlie. Mackenzie and Ken watched their children grow and become adults. Once they were out on their own. Mackenzie and Ken grew old together, as happy as they could be until the day they both died.
