The sounds of Pidove's filled the crisp morning air. The sun eagerly waiting to shine its brilliance through the shades of a small corner cafe in Kindlebrook. The building's somewhat old but warm design with lush green foliage falling down the outside of its brick walls, ever so carelessly. Inside this small cafe awaits an adventure and a challenge, one that will be seen by thousands upon thousands of Pokémon. A race of paw steps ran up the stairs to a loft where a Flareon quietly slept. A small Eevee eagerly knocked on the door upon the loft.
"Ember!" She yelled "wake up! we only have one more month until my school starts, and you have to go to college!" complaining and justifying hurry urgency. Hearing no response, she continued. "Come on Ember you promised that I could help cook breakfast".
"Alright, alright I'm getting up Lavender" Ember said as he yawned. "Go ahead and get washed up and ready I'll meet you down there in a few, okay?"
"Yay!", Lavender squealed in joy as she ran downstairs wasting no time in getting ready.
Ember got off his mattress stretching and yawning at his early morning wake up call. Looking at the time seeing as it was barely even six, he sighed and smiled.
"She never gets up this early" he said then went to his bathroom and washed himself and quickly fixed his mane and hair. Glancing outside his window he noticed how bright and blue the welcoming sky and sun were. Admiring this gorgeous view, he continued to fix his fur and most of all wake up.
"Brother, are you almost done?" Lavender yelled, know sitting impatiently waiting in the kitchen.
"Just about sis" Ember, hurriedly finished his routine and made his way downstairs.
"Finally," Lavender sighed in relief. "Why do you take sooooooo, long waking up?" she whined.
Ember who had just walked into the kitchen of the cafe grinned, "well to have as much time away from you of course"
"heeeyyyyy," She whined, her face quickly turning sorrowful and hurt. "that's mean"
" I'm only messing with you Lav" Ember smiled as he rummaged through the cabinets, pulling out bowls, pans, whisks, spatulas, plates and forks. " Alright you ready?"
"Yes sir!" Lavender said while saluting, she had been waiting all morning, even if it was only around thirty minutes.
They began mixing the necessary ingredients in the bowls and preparing the stove. The kitchen wasn't small, nor was it wasn't huge, but it was definitely something to admire and perfectly suitable for a few Pokémon to work in. Having just a few tables and chairs, including two stories above. The Cafe was definitely something for sure, with its fireplace, plants it draws in plenty Pokémon throughout the day. Ember and his sister Lavender operate this little cafe, serving the locals and getting their supplies through fellow friends and other Pokémon. They don't make much but just enough to get by.
"Alright know that the batter is mixed we can know start making the pancakes," said Ember.
"Yes, I'm starving!" Lavender exclaimed. "Can I pour the batter this time, please, please please?" she begged.
"Only if you can do it slowly" Ember said with a laugh of amusement.
Lavender eagerly poured the batter onto the pan, but unfortunately spilling half of it onto the stove. leaving half of the batter in the bowl, the rest both cooking and dripping onto the floor.
"Awwwwww man" Lavender whined, her ears and tail fell, upset to her mess.
Ember sat down and took no hesitation into comforting her, while also hurriedly cleaning up the spill with a towel. "Don't get all gloomy on me know Lav, the day has just begun" he said gently. "Tell you what once we get this get this cleaned up and eat, how about we go to the mall?"
" Really?!" Lavender said in excitement, her mood totally switched around, eyes sparkling with joy.
"Mmhmm" Ember nodded as he sat up kicking the towel towards their dirty clothes basket. " Who knows maybe we might stop by your favorite food stall" he added.
"whaaaatttt!!!" she was practically brimming with joy and her eyes shining unbelievably bright. Her tail swinging at a speed that Ember didn't know was even possible.
"After we finish breakfast okay" Ember chuckled in response, "but that doesn't mean scarf it down like a Lechonk". He then proceeded to make pancakes with what was left of the batter. Lavender bouncing up and down eagerly waiting to eat her pancakes.
They both bad finish their breakfast not to long after, getting ready to leave Ember grabbed his bag and swing it over his shoulder. He checked his money he had, stuffing a reasonable amount in. Heading downstairs he went to the kitchen and grabbed a few muffins as a thank you gift for a favor his friend helped him out with. Meanwhile Lavender was bristling with energy her fur almost static like from sliding back in for in her room getting ready.
"Alright Lav, you ready?" asked Ember?
"You know it!" Lavender replied.
They both walked out the cafe, Ember locking it up and the taking a deep breath, taking in the morning air, both ready to take on what the rest of the day has waiting for them.
