Time shakes, found you at the water
At first you were my father
Now I'll love you like a brother.
(Cage and the elephant, come a little closer)

"Mind if we crash your mothers meeting?"
The boy with glasses asked nonchalantly.
His voice was smooth and he seemed like an energetic puppy.
"James!" Peter squealed.
He obviously knew this boy, maybe they were friends?
"Wotcha Peter. Was looking for you on the train but me and Black here got side tracked."
He ruffled the boy he was standing next to's hair.
"Black. You're a black?" Peters eyes widened as he looked at the beautiful boy standing next of James.
"Unfortunately." The boy scowled. "Not my choice, obviously." He said, sounding worried.
Peters face relaxed slightly, and he looked and smiled.
"James! This is Remus, he's halfblood!"
James practically beamed at Remus, showing a set of white teeth, his front tooth was slightly crooked, but that only added character.
He plopped down next the Peter casually and began to introduce himself the Remus.
"I'm James Potter! I'm hoping to be in Gryffindor, my parents both were. I like quidditch. Had my first fight a minute ago. It was insane-"
"Merlin James, you're gonna give the poor guy a heart attack, I'm Sirius!"
he said warmly to Remus, shaking his hand. His fingers were long and graceful. Remus stomach squirmed.
"Remus. Remus lupin." He replied quickly.
The other boy smiled at him.
"So, Remus lupin. What's your story?"

Remus explained his living situation, his parents jobs, what his childhood was like. Leaving out the traumatic bite in 1965 obviously. And the others seemed satisfied with it all. He listened their stories. James grew up in a loving home, he was well off. Could ride a broom before he could walk ect... peters life was seemingly dull, but he did laugh at the embarrassing incidents Peter had got himself into during his previous years. And sirius, Merlin his life was insane. Filled with banquets and weddings and family dinners. It was nothing short of the fantasy novels Remus had read. Even though Sirius's story was impressive he seemed slightly ashamed of it.
"Well, I mean when your entire family is practically an incest filled cult you have to keep a low profile." He said shortly.
"Not doing a good job there mate!" James said. He sounded like a proud mother.
"Changing the subject!" Peter cried. "What houses are you hoping to be in.
"I already told you lot! Gryffindor obviously." James seemed offended by the question.
"I dunno, my dads Ravenclaw and I like books, so Ravenclaw?" Remus told the boys.
"Anything but slytherin." Sirius muttered darkly. "I mean it's bad enough having to share a school with them, but a house. Merlin! I'd pull my hair out before that happened."
"Don't pull your hair out Sirius." Remus stated, "it's glorious!" He gushed.
The three other boys looked at him in silence for a few seconds before bursting into fits of giggles.
Of course Remus didn't see what was funny about the situation at all and sat there bemused, observing the other boys laughs.
James's was loud and booming, it sounded like it was magnified somehow. And was honestly quite terrifying. Sirius's was a high pitched cackle, very throaty, slightly unhinged. Peters was glorious, a large chuckle erupting from his mouth, sending the other boys into even more fits of giggles.

Once there extremely elongated laugh was over the train began to slow.
James looked at the other boys with the creepy smile and whispered.
"It's time."
And soon enough, their compartment door swung open and the boys got up and left.

Remus was the last to make his way out of the train, struggling to navigate the shelves and moving furniture that was floating through the air, making its merry way towards the trains exit.

As soon as he stepped outside, a gust of wind threw him backwards into an extremely large man.
"Oi! Ah can't blame you fer falling, skinny little fing. Now geroff me and follow yer friends!" He said it cheerily but Remus couldn't help feeling terrified by the man giant.

Remus followed the crowd of timid first years to a large lake. And there he got his first view of the castle. Hogwarts.
